Hello Everyone,

Thank you, Helen, for inspiring us again with your theme.

My posting is of a view in Grizedale Forest, near Hawkshead in The Lake District. I had quite a nuber of shots to choose from but went for this as it truly was a walk in the woods! I particularly liked the twisted branch gnarling into the distance.

I'm sure there are many people who have never heard of Grizedale Forest. It is part of The Lake District National Park. There are sculpture trails, interesting habitats and great views as well as scarey activities like zip wires, abseiling, etc.

Here is some more information about the site from the National Park:
Grizedale Forest occupies the fellside between Coniston Water and Esthwaite Water. The visitor centre lies on the Hawkshead to Satterthwaite road. There are two specially designed ‘easy going trails’ suitable for wheelchair users. These are the Ridding Wood Trail and the Millwood Trail. They feature even surfaces and gentle slopes to enable visitors with mobility difficulties to explore the forest and enjoy the views and the various woodland sculptures for which Grizedale is famous.

These sculptures have been created by artists in residence and their work won the prestigious Prudential Award for the Arts in 1990.Full details of the trails and associated facilities are available from the visitor centre. There is plenty to see and do at Grizedale and it would be worthwhile allocating at least half a day. The exhibition explains the history and wildlife of the working forest. A self-propelled platform for wheelchairs is available on request.

Many thanks for your visit.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. :-)

Hiya Bev

A lovly woodland shot here, good sharpness and detail and I like the way the tree on the left naturally frames the shot, interesting notes too

TFS and for joining in with the theme

kind regards Helen

Hello Beverley,an original PoV for the theme.
I like the positioning of the tree on the right hand side, it makes a good frame and the light on the moss makes it a strong feature, especially as it is pointing into the shot.
Good notes.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Beverly
a great shot indeed.

That tree sure would have caught my eye, but what I love most of all is the fact that you can see down in a valley.

A lovely picture to share,
Thanks

Lovely differing shades of green Bev and I love the lichen. Nicely composed and good light. TFS,

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Smell the Flowers’. He is no longer allowed out the front minus a lead, he discovered that the fence is no higher than our bed and he can clear it quite easily.

Hello Bev,
Beautiful shot. You captured great details of the trunk and branches, nicely in natural colors. With the pathway seen on the frame, this shot is beautifully contributing another nice photo for the theme.
Regards,
Ramdan.

Hi Bev!

This is just awesome! When I saw the topic for the theme the first that came to mind was that you folks in Britain would have fabulous photos of the woods and this is just proof that I was right!

TFS and also for the note..
