| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Saturday morning in Oxford - I had to wait a while for the street to get less busy but think it was worth waiting for.
While wandering the streets in Oxford this morning I decided it is time for the new lens (Sigma 10-20mm) I longed to buy for a long time (told my wife to see it as an early birthday present). This is purely a first experimental shot with the wide angle. For me it opens up a new world in architectural photography and I'm sure the same will be true for landscapes.
Any comments and tips on the use of an wide angle welcome. |

Hello Andrei.
This is fantastic photo. I love the use of wide angle lens and colours. Very interesting reflections in the shop window. Great light, looks like HDR photo.
I saw few pictures taken with that lens and it's on my wish list.

Hi Andrei...I like the slanting of the buildings...I think you created an artistic composition from a simple street scene...nice work.

hi Andrei
Very interesting architecture and pov to show street scene. The tall height of the walls and facade has impact on the pov due to your vertical format. Well done.

The thing you need to take into consideration with a WA lens is distortion,it is more apparent when pointing the camera upwards as you have done here Andrei. If you look at the pedestrians they are standing straight but look at the top of the building and it leans (distorts) forward. To see better what I mean look at the drainpipe. It is called converging verticals. You need to straighten them in Photoshop. Hope this helps.
