[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is an environmental wooden sculpture by Mr Duncan M. Watt and can be found within Lainsahw Woods in Stewarton.

Woollen "Tam O'Shanter" bonnets have been manufactured at Stewarton since the 16th century. The town is still called the "Bonnet Toun".
(Taken from www.east-ayrshire.gov.uk)

'The Bonnet Man' is a carving of an enormous burr into a Stewarton Bonnet (for which the town is famed)and it lends industrial identity to the site.

His slightly bleary eyes and huge nose characterise this figure as 'Josie the Poacher'.
