The ruins of Corfe Catle
My last day with Silke and Roy. Mrs. Lotl had a brilliant idea to visit the Ruins of the Corfe castle in Dorset. Well it almost killed me :-)

With the wonderful weather, the gorgeous landscape, the delicious cream tea it was a great day! A bit sad too because it was my last whole day with Silke and Roy which both really made my day!

Regarding the picture here taken from the village which is situated at the bottom of the hill were the castle is (was) situated. Silke and I climbed up (respect for her, she is using a cane to help her walk with a painful knee). I got me self almost "killed" by running on the top of the hill, stumbling and falling...bruised two fingers and a toe, no scratch on my dear Nikon :-)

Well folks I'm in Norwich now, the weather has dramatically changed. I will let you know asap!

PP work:
Shot in RAW but used here the JPEG issue. Adjusted contrast and brightness slightly even like the saturation. Cropped, add frame and resized. Sharpened afterwards!

Nice landscape. I have been to Corfe castle and a lovely place it is and full of history. I like your capture because of the houses in the foreground instead of just consantrateing on just the castle itself. A nice clear and dramatic capture well done

Codge

Hi Hans, glad to hear your enjoying ,Jolly Olde England, this image looks a little dull on my screen, but thats me nit picking.Your POV is perfect for this image, you have made the ruins of Corfe Castle stand out majestically against the village buildings,I don't think you could have chosen a better angle.Hope your fingers are back to normal, good save on the camera:)

Ron

You were nearly killed visiting these ruins - just you wait until I take you up Rangitoto this year!!!
Lovely scene - these old ruins sitting above the houses look so interesting.
Poor Silke, I hope she's managing ok on her bad knee.
Janice

dear Baron, your post of today is too dark
but still interesting POV, seems to be a very good looking place which is woth to be seen
regards
jo

Beautiful capture.
Love the view.
But I find it a bit dark. And Ron did a nice job on the WS.

A tad dark Hans which may have been due to the cloud cover. Interesting to see the castle because my ex often mentioned it,she was born in Poole, Dorset.Good detail and a fine POV. TFS,
David

Hi Hans,
Perhaps, the effect of your filter, the couleurs are lightly
muted, but your POV is splendid and gives importance and nobility at these ruins. Hope you had a great time with Silke!
Regards! Annie

I am glad you and your Nikon did survive. This is an amazing place. A lot of details. Seems to me that with such a pretty, sunny day, it could be a little bit brighter. But with that tone you gave it makes a different and nostalgic mood on it. I like it very much. TFS

Ha Hans,

Mooie een prent, maar uhhh... je hebt volgens mij de donkere versie er op gezet. Ik zie het vanaf deze PC donker in.
Maar, met jouw zonnige stemming komt het vast wel goed.
Hartelijke groet,
Henk

Wonderful! Itīs a postcard in my eyes.Perfectly composed.
Best regards Rose

Aloha Hans,

Gr.,
Anneke

The PoV here is waht really makes the picture, of course. But I do agree, it is much too dark -- and the day was SO nice and bright
