The ruins of Corfe Castle

A repost of the previous too dark image of the Castle and village of Corfe. Increased brightness midtones, contrast and saturation with all 20%. Everybody thanks for your honest critique!

My last day with Silke and Roy. Mrs. Lotl had a brilliant idea to visit the Ruins of the Corfe castle in Dorset. Well it almost killed me :-)

With the wonderful weather, the gorgeous landscape, the delicious cream tea it was a great day! A bit sad too because it was my last whole day with Silke and Roy which both really made my day!

Regarding the picture here taken from the village which is situated at the bottom of the hill were the castle is (was) situated. Silke and I climbed up (respect for her, she is using a cane to help her walk with a painful knee). I got me self almost "killed" by running on the top of the hill, stumbling and falling...bruised two fingers and a toe, no scratch on my dear Nikon :-)

Well folks I'm in Norwich now, the weather has dramatically changed. I will let you know asap!

PP work:
Shot in RAW but used here the JPEG issue. Adjusted contrast and brightness slightly even like the saturation. Cropped, add frame and resized. Sharpened afterwards!

Hello Hans! Wonderful ruins, wonderful cityscape. Fantastic perspective. Very good capture. Original work. Good luck!

Groeten,

Edwin

Very fine work, Hans. The repost here is fabulous -- excellent light, superb colours -- and you got a PoV that I missed completely -- maybe because you are SO MUCH TALLER ?

This is so beautiful and makes me feel as though I'm right there. The lighting and colors are very nice. An extremely interesting place that I would love to visit someday. TFS

Silke was chasing you on the hill?? I told you she was FAST!.. So sorry you fell, as a tall person myself, it's a LOOONG way down to the ground! HAHA! Love the lighter version here Hans! Nice levels! So glad you sacrificed yourself to save the N*K*N. Now where is that pic of Silke skinny dipping in the surf? It's a MUST SEE!

Beautiful capture of a wonderful sight. I didn't see the original you're speaking of but this one certainly isn't lacking anything. it's sharp, colorful, well lit and is presented with a great perspective.
The clouds behind the castle really make it stand out as well.
Nice work,
TFS, hope your hand and foot gets better.
Take care,
Wilt

Hi Hans,

It's a very sharp image..
I love seeing this panoramic view . .
I do have similar problem with brightness of my macbook . . and I need to calibrate it . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Hans...great composition..wonderful colors and details.

Roger

It’s a nice shot and you took it well. I like its composition. Also, the light is fine.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Hans, fascinating old castle over a lovely village, superb sky and fantastic colors, wonderful composition, very well done, ciao Silvio

This is a charming image and somewhat melancholic, having at its center the ruins of the castle. Excellent composition with sharp details and wonderful colors. I'd tell you... "break a leg" regarding your visit to Norwich but...under the circumstances I think I'll just wish you the best of luck and a merry change of weather! :)
Best regards,
Diana

Complimenten voor de compo. Ook goed van kleur, scherpte en belichting. Mooi werk. Daar neem ik mijn gasmasker even voor af!

Hi Hans,
I don't get homesick for England often these days, but this would just about do it.
A beautiful capture of a charming English country scene.
I love it.
TFS
Steve

Wonderful to see ruins like that up on the hill, it seems to be spilling over with stories from the past - what stories those walls could tell!
Faithfully captured and presented with all of your usual finesse. Well done.
