It was a nice night last night and I went out with the intention of getting my first set of slow shutter speed pictures. I had already been to the location that I had in mind and I thought that most people do these type of pictures on buses and cars. I decided to go for trains.
I took my tripod and got set up. I had decided that 4 seconds should be enough to get two pictures of a train leaving the station. This photo was my second attempt.
I cropped the photo as there was not much foreground and I turned up the contrast and turned down the brightness so that the sky was a lovely blue colour. Framing was for effect. |

Well done. Nice colours. Slow exposure worked well.
TFS.
Nice work - great effect with the slow shutter speed. Good POV to catch the perspective lines of the train.
Hi Andrew
Lovely composition, fantastic lead in lines and the shutter speed looks spot on. My only remark would be that you're picture is only 82kb and therefore you're giving away some quality saving at such a low level.Brilliant shot though !
Cheers Pez
Good result for first effort.... Keep at it, night shots are great fun.
Cheers

Hi Andrew....
Perfectly executed shot! I really like these types of images. This certainly gives me incentive to try more night shots.

Great shot Andrew. I just discovered how fun it is to do this type of photo. Lovely lines and lights created by the trail.
