Hello Everyone,

Well after a beautiful Saturday when I was able to spend time tending the garden and lunching alfresco with friends, today is cold (only 6 degrees C) and very wet!

The cherry tree has taken a real battering from the weather so, I will post the last shot I took of it, as a memento of its beauty.

I bought the cherry tree in a small pot about 20years ago. Since then, it has grown and blossomed. It produces an abundance of blossom, followed by a big crop of cherries. Sadly, we have never had chance to eat the cherries! Firstly, we are usually on holiday when they mature and secondly, the birds arrive in force to tuck into this juiciest of meals! Instead of being covered in cherries, the tree is covered in cherry stones, still attached to the twigs!!

I have had a little 'play' on Photo Shop today just messing with borders. I hope you like the result.

Have a lovely day, Bev :-)
Please feel free to offer feedback to me on any aspect of the photograph.

pp cropped, sharpened, added layer & borders, erased sections to make the flowers 3D, adde marque border & square motifs

Hi Bev,
Wow supper capture of these delicate blossom flowers, although the black frame is a nice idea to present the white blossom, I'm not sure about those white messhed squares, they are a bit distractive in my opinion. Nevertheless a fine posting!
Hans

Hi Beverley,
Beautiful composition,good shot.
Best regards,

interesting with petals jumping out from the framing, the one on the top is cut, why don't do the same as the one in the bottom ?

Hi Bev,
It's nice to see the blossoms out again, you have captured this well and I like the black frame with the blossom poping out, I have to say I am not overkeen on the white squares on the frame though this is personal choice.
Regards Andy

Hi Bev,

The blossems are indeed ver eye catching and the presentation over the border is beautiful.
About the playing I'm not quite sure, in my opinion just a black frame with the tiniest of white line would have been enough. However I know it's great to play with the possibilities.

Hello Beverley

Beautiful post!
I like these flowers, they are soft and silky.
a beautiful shot and a beautiful frame. I always liked details in frames, but I already went noticed always that was not well, that they distract them and other things the more.
I don't know, me leaning that that is a personal taste, and of course have good taste as the final art and in the theme.
I was always in doubt with details in frames.
Congratulations, a beautiful compo!

Hi Bev,
Lovely macro of these delicate symbols of spring.
Very clear crisp colors and fine details.
Very tastefully framed image using the rule of three.

HI Bev
You have done it justice as your composition and framing of this flower is flawless. I like the flowers outside the frame but not too keen on the tiny squares as I find it takes away from the beauty of the flower......But that is just me. Perhpas the frame could be used on something with less details.

Good colour and light on the flowers Bev and a nice bit of OOB work. Excellent focus and lovely detail. TFS,
David

Very nice, so delicate and yet so well presented.
It's all perfect, lights, color and depth and I particularly think the side lighting is really effective here and makes the image a stand out.
If I had to be critical, which for some reason it seems I do, the frame with the little textured squares bothers me and detracts from the purity of a great image, but that's me and it's not enough to ruin the good work.
TFS,
Wilt

Hello Beverly, beautiful capture of spring.. clear and sharp. I like the black frame and the petals overlapping it but the white squares at every corner are very distracting.. thanks
