[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris) leaving the nest in an old tree with a fecal sack, below the parent bird you can see one of the young in the nest.
This was not an easy shot to get as I had to deal with darkish conditions at the front of the nest and bright sunlight from the right hand side, I used ISO 800 and a flash to help with the lighting.

Thanks to all who view and comment on my pictures.

Latin name
Certhia familiaris

Family
Treecreepers (Certhidae)

Overview
The treecreeper is small, very active, bird that lives in trees. It has a long, slender, downcurved bill. It is speckly brown above and mainly white below. It breeds in the UK and is resident here. Birds leave their breeding territories in autumn but most range no further than 20 km. Its population is mainly stable.

Where to see them
Best looked for on the trunks of trees in suitable woodland. In autumn and winter, it often joins flocks of tits and other small birds, so if you come across such a flock in a wood, it is worth listening out for a treecreeper among them.

When to see them
All year round.

What they eat
Insects and spiders, and some seeds in winter.

Hi Andy
Very nicely composed image, the camouflage of the bird is quite something blending in with its background

Thanks for your comments on my bike pics

Hi Andy
You must be lucky to get a shot like this. I shouldn't think the treecreeper would hang around long before flying backwards and forwards.
To catch the baby just under it as well is really fantastic.
A good clear, sharp shot.
