[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Heard through the week that there was now some cygnets at the loch near my home, went for a walk this morning to see if I could see them. They were swimming around but staying very close to mum.

The cygnets stay with their parents until the next winter by which time they are losing the brown plumage that replaced the grey down.

It will be a full year before they are completely white, and they are ready to breed when they are three or four years old.

Cropped the image.
Straightened.
Increased brightness.
Added a border.

Very good image. Though I do think your border is far too large. We have a limited upload size and you take about 16% of your image with border. It is difficult to acheive superb detail within white plumage. You have achieved a good reflection and good detail in the water and cygnets.

Beautiful capture, well presented too. I like the control of focus, the background is beautiful (of course the reflection too).

Now there is an impressive crew seen in tight formation to the mother ship, Marvelous nature capture with a striking reflection along with brilliant colors and razor sharp details. Very informative note about the good care these young get from their parents.
