Good Morning Everyone,

This morning I am posting the shot of a wild rose that I found tumbling over a drystone wall at Hebden Bridge in North Yorkshire.

It was a beautifully sunny day and we had decided to walk along the canal towpath just to enjoy the sights and chat to the holidaymakers who were havind great fun trying to manoeuvre their long narrowboats around bends and past other vessels.

It was the sort of day that everything looks at its best and people wear smiles without decision.

This lovely rose was growing from a drystone wall and its very simplicity was attractive. I usually add borders and change things on the shot, but this appeared to need nothing. I just cropped, desaturated the l/h b/g and signed.

I hope you enjoy the photograph.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the shot.
Have a lovely weekend.
Bev :-)

Hi Bev,

I observed many wild flowers, and all of them are so beautiful . .
I believe this one is also lovely flower with hard surrounding . .
Great presentation . .

Tfs,
Tjutjut

Hi Beverley
Very sharp focus on the leaves - they look like they have been polished!!
The rose itself is beautiful. Almost like a silky material. The middle of the rose has been captured well also.

Olá Bev,
Great shot here, the main focus on leafs is simply fantastic. Tender colors on flowers, well captured. Good POV. The diagonal composition works very well.

superb light, colour and details in this.
My one suggestion would be to place the bloom a little more to the right -- a little less central

Hi Bev,
Great little rose, good colour and sharpness, I like the way the light is falling on the leaves, I think a little cropped off the right side would hepl the composition and you would only loose a few leaves.
Well done
Regards Andy

What lovely light you have on this image Bev. I like how the leaves just shimmer in the sunlight without them being oversaturated or too bright and of course the rosre is wonderful.

Hi Bev, nice composition and clarity, lots of sharp detail in the leaves.

Thanks
Gil

Were it not for the flower I would have said one of those horrid blackberries looking at the leaves Bev. A lovely bright image, good detail and lovely textures in the stones. TFS,
David

Hi Bev,
I'm not bragging when I say I know my wild roses and this one is an excellent specimen caught in perfect light that brings out the lush green leaves and brilliant hot pink flower. In Maine wild roses are everywhere and it would take a bulldozer to remove them from the rocky coastline.

Hello Beverley,

Excellent capture of this flower. I like very much the POV and the colors and light are great.
Best regards,
Sorina

hello bev,
this is perfect without a border. It is so beautifully exposed that I feel it is really in fron tof me and that I could touch it or sniff it.

Hi Bev
Glad you were out for a walk or I would not have seen this beautifly exposed rose. All the Tech stuff is spot on- clarity, color, DOF, BG and composition. You have made the simple flower a work of art. Bravo

Oh yes and thanks for the visit to my Friday theme.

Dan

It is indeed excellent just the way it is right now Bev, sunny, detailed and very beautiful.
Those roses grow here in the wild as well. As children we used them to pick some petals and put them in an empty jam-jar with water to make our own perfume-for-one-day.

TFS and have a nice weekend,

Els

Excellent light-shadows play and clarity. A nice romantic compo. The wild rose is more interesting and more special in its simplicity than a regular rose.

TFS,
Andreea
