Hello everyone, in the garden of our son and daughter-in-law is this very showy Clematis;I had never seen this variety before.
They inherited it when they moved into their house. If you know what type it is,I would love to know.
I was rather taken by the colours of the flowers and thought that they looked good set against the trellis.

Hope that you like it too. Thanks for looking, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello, Jean.

By golly gosh, this is some clematis! What a stunner! We have some clematis growing all over one end of our garage, but its flowers are puny in comparison to this fellow.

I think I've found what you're looking for here or here. I think it's a Clematis Josephine, sometimes called Clematis Evojohill.

I'd grab a cutting when your son or daughter-in-law are not looking!

Lovely picture, by the way! Very clear and sharp with lovely natural colours.

Thank you for sharing this one, Jean.

Best Wishes and have a Good Weekend,

John.

Indeed a stunning flower Jean and very unlike any I have seen down here. John seems to have come up with the name for you too which is a bonus. Very well captured in what appears to be fading or low light. Good colour and lovely detail.

Hi Jean
I looked through my books and came up empty but I see that
John found something very similar. It sure is a beauty and you really did it justice by a good composition showing off
the sharpness.

Hello Jean,
I had a big garden in Ireland when I lived there, with about 8 different clematis. This is a great shot--I like how these large blooms fill the image on the diagonal.
Good colour and detail.
Well done,
TFS,Joni

dear Jean Dwyer,
a very interesting and beautiful figure of the clematis.
I have never seen this kind of double-petaled clematis, perhaps common stamina may be transformed into petals...out 8 petals are surely common clematis.
anyway, your capturing is clear and picturesque.
thank you,
Akihisa
