"Now then son (Daughter), When these humans like to photograph Robins, be sure and adopt the classic pose. A good one is here on the wheelbarrow handle or alternatively another one the like is to sit on the handle of the spade behind us"

OMG SMurfie has lost the plot again lol.

Well who would have guessed the chances of getting this shot, I took the rebel outside yesterday afternoon to try and get some shots of birds in flight. I wanted a nice pic to post for my dad today as it's fathers day here in the UK.

I sat at the end of the garden and the little robin appeared about five meters from me. I just stayed where I was for about 10 minutes watching him and shooting, suddenly this little chap/chapess appeared from the undergrowth and I watched as dad fed him some grubs..sorry I didnt get a shot of that as the dad was flitting about way too quickly.

My heart was really pounding as I watched the two of them and as you can read above I was thinking to myself what they might be saying. This caused me to start giggling and I struggled to keep the camera steady. I consider myself very honoured to have witnessed this and to have got this shot.

So Pappa Smurf this one is for you, a father and child on Fathers day.

Lots of love BDS xxxx (Bossy Daughter Smurf)

Helen, This is an amazing shot.
I know just how you felt when you said your heart was pounding! Thank goodness you had your camera with you!

I just love the pose! I think robins were put on this earth to amuse us! They are definitely full of character!

The composition is excellent with the handle creating adiagonal across the shot.
Excellent details and how well you have kept them both in focus.
Dad will love it!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hello helen,
what a delightful shot. I can understand why you are thrilled to bits. The diagonal of the wheelbarrow handle and the spacing between father and child makes for a perfect composition.
well done
Bev

Hello Helen, I enjoyed reading your notes;so I am not the only one who thinks like this?
This is a lovely study of the two robins.Good contrasting colours of the background.
Thanks for sitting around waiting for some action!I am sure it wasn't too much like hard work?
The composition is excellent.
Robins just have to be one of my favourite garden birds.
Tfs, regards Jean.
