This is pure mathematics, or geometry, I suppose. The perfect geometry of the centre of a flower of the Oriental Poppy or Papaver Orientale.

Brian McDonnell (trampas) has shown a lovely picture of one of these flowers just before opening and this is the fully opened flower.

I also thought about calling this one "Fruit Pudding" because it looks a bit like one to me, but I was really impressed by the beautiful pure geometry of this wonderful creation.

Hi John,

Amazing nature full on, that's why we love landscapes so much, nothing else comes close. You don't mention a tripod so very well done capturing the image so well hand held.

this is a wonderful macro image. it shows the beauty and the intricacies of this flower.
you have captured it perfectly.

i could not have taken this image without a mono/tripod as i shake like a leaf in a breeze. well done for keeping the clarity.
