[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While visiting Roy's brother in Leeds, we persuaded him to take us on a little side trip through Yorkshire to Trawden one day and met TL members Bev and Len Robinson (Royal Devon and Lennoland).

It was warm and hazy so the sky was not at its best. But I took a few pictures of the view from her fabulous backyard.

Tech: taken in raw, adjusted levels and saturation in raw, converted to jpg and adjusted curves, adjusted hue of the grass, resized, sharpened edges, framed and signed

Like my previous posting this one may suffer from some loss due to compression (7/12 or medium)

Thanks for looking and have the most marvellous week imaginable :)

Maybe not the greatest sky, indeed, but I love these green old stones in the FG.

Hi Silke

Wow! I like the symmetry of the 2 stone walls in this typical English countryside shot. Attractive pastel colours & diffused light, with good sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Silke

Oh wow the quintessential (not sure on spelling) English cottage and how beautifully you have captured it. Wonderful lead through the shot with the stone wall and a perfectly balanced shot with lovely framing too

TFS regards Helen

Yes you were right Silke, would not have liked to miss the view from Bev's backyard.
What a lovely picture and what a place to live!

Hi Silke,
I like this shot especially the lighting. I like how the one side is a little darker and the other side has the sun. The detail in the stone cottage is really good as is the colors. Nice sharp image.
Regards,
Kevin

HI Silke,

What a calming, peaceful, view she has. I hope there is a table outside to enjoy the start of the day with a cup of coffee or tea, and this spectacular view. I cannot believe how green the stones and landscape appear.

You have a terrific composition with the stonewall in the foreground, the house, more wall, and in the distance another home. One would imagine it continues for many, many miles.

thanks for sharing this peaceful country setting with us.

Lisa

Love the light and and how it looks going up the hill.
I like seeing the houses in the background.
Great quality and clarity.
Well done.

Charming rural corner of glorious old England. A well chosen and shot composition. I like especially the warm afternoon light.

Hi Buuf,
Great capture of this typical English house. The dull sky is even English as I see it know looking outside my office window in Norwich :-) The stone fences are excellent part in this picture. The black frame enhances the imae. reat one my Lady of the Lens!
Hans

Hello Silke,

This is a very nice piece of architecture, well depicted!
The great angle of light adds a feeling of 3-D to the structure, and I notice the ever present stone fences...
A well composed presentation with fresh spring colours!

Greetings,
Pablo -

It is always interesting to see the architecture in other lands. I remember going around with my mouth open looking at the homes and buildings over there. Especially the little towns and their narrow streets.
This shows us the many uses of their stones, and the cottage looks quite large and so strong and sturdy too.

hello Silke,
I am so fond of the Yorkshire architecture and landscape, so well captured here.
I like how the lighting heightens the colour of the mossy green on the stone walls.
Good one. Joni

Hola amiga,
hermosa postal,
interesante rural escena,
buen pov.
saludos

Hello My friend,

This is just like looking up the garden.
You really have done this justice and have positioned it so well, with Lower Beardshaw Farm placed nicely in the distance.
Love your framing.

Sorry I have not been around much.
Exams, end of term reports, festivals ... all so demanding! Also going to have to keep things briefer; got a little RSI!)

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
