Good morning Peeps

Well I guess this mornings post might be a bit of an enigma. I have a feeling you'll love it or hate it or maybe just wonder what its all about. if it provokes a reaction then thats just fine as thats what it does for me too.

On Saturday I visited my friend for the afternoon and she had her two grandchildren playing in the garden with a bubble machine. Luckily I rarely go out visiting without the rebel and I took a god few shots for her of the little ones playing. They were so relaxed and busy with the bubbles they forgot I was there and I sat behind the flower bed and got some really lovley shots for her.

However out of all the shots, many filled with laughter and smiling faces this was my absolute favourite and yet I can quite put my finger on why.

It has an air of young innocence about it and in a way mystery too as there is no face or facial expression, even without seeing the little girls face I think the image shows she is happy.

A shame that the very tip of her finger is cropped from the shot though.

I would be very interested in what you think about this image as for me it has a special feel to it. Also I am not really very brave when it comes to portrait work so this is another step into something new for me.

As ever it is framed in good old Photofiltre.

Have a good day and thanks for viewing my shot and reading my waffle.

TTFN regards Smurfie

I love it!!! What a great capture of this little girl playing, and I also like that her face is turned away. Added to my favorites. TFS and have a great day!

hello Helen,
I can see why you like this one. As you say, we can guess quite easily the expression of her face. It is a delightful, summery scene but for me I would prefer to see just a little of her face.If she had been turned just slightly to her right it would be perfect. I can understand why you decided not to convert to black and white (as you had mentioned to me) as the summery colours and the little girl pink all work to create a seasonal posting.

Hi Helen
This is a lovely photo. She is totally unaware that it is being taken and so it is all natural and not posing. She is too busy concentrating on the bubble coming down towards her hand.
Its a "love it" for me.

Hi, Helen, so lovely photo, and she looks sooo cute... remind me of my cousin Elena...

Hello Helen.
Your right, it i an adoreble picture.
Very well snapshooted.
My only critique, the framing takes away the possibllity of seening it larger.
A smaller size, imo would be better.
Best regards from jan

That's often the way to take kid's photos - take them when they are relaxed and forget you are there. Get down on their level and shoot!!
I love the single bubble and how her right hand is lifting up to touch it. Maybe more of her face showing would be even better, and see it larger and in a smaller frame - but colours, compo and all else are good Helen

PS Now go out and look for more kids to photograph.

Hi Helen
This is a cute classic.
The face is not visible adding a bit of suspense and left to ones imagination.
Bright sharp crisp capture.
great job

I love it! Why? Because it's natural, unposed, is asks a question, sorry about her finger though. Just put a bandaid on the boo-boo! Nice work here Helen! You almost can't miss with kids!

Hi dear friend,
I surely love it! Wonderful!
Even if the cute little girl show us her back,
the view around her is like in a fairy tale.
Wonderful mood in your shot! TFS
Best wishes,
Ioana

Adorable, Helen. The setting around her is beautiful. Her pose with her back to us, and the way the shoulder strap of her dress has slipped without her knowing or caring, convey the complete absorption into the joy of playing with bubbles. Excellent color, wonderful atmosphere. Nice one!

Hello Helen,

Everything you say works for me too.
The face is not necessary!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
(Trying to keep things brief, my friend; got a little RSI. Too many reports, perhaps!)

lovely lovely capture Helen. bubbles, POV, mood and all. great stuff!

Great view of the little girl. I like the way you caught her in play when she didn't know you were taking her picture. She looks naturally happy. Very colorful.
