[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Good morning peeps

Todays image was shot a my friends house, she had just purchased the most delightful lilly flowers and the first thing I wanted to do when I saw them was to photograph them. Yes I know most people would want to smell them but to be quite honest I dislike the smell of lillies with a passion.

Macro capture to show the detail and the saffron which is used as food colouring. Although its generally collected from the crocus plants.. A word of warning here do not get this on your clothing as its virtually impossible to remove.

i like viewing the filaments/saffron stand out from the stamen and against the blurred petals. this is a great macro composition on a flower & very well done. salute!

Superb focus on the pistils/stamens. Hard to capture white but you did quite well here. You are right, the smell can be intense and the pollens can indeed create a havoc of a stain. Have a good Sunday. Greetings! Danilo

Very nice macro Helen. Maybe more space on the right would suit it better - that is the way the stamens, etc are facing.
Still, it is a pretty picture

Clean, simple and very lively! I love the fine details you have found in the heart of the flower.
One odd observation, though -- I always thought that saffron came only from a certain variety of crocus -- so I have learned something new today

Very nicely presented. The deep reds and green in contrast to the soft and milky whites makes for a very interesting and pretty image.
Good sharp macro work with proper DOF.
