Just an unofficial snap taken at a wedding I was at in Scotland over the weekend.

The flower girl is my wee lassie, Hannah - I think her first time at a wedding and she loved getting dressed up :-)

The bridesmaid, a friends daughter, was really good with Hannah and Jessica(also a flower girl) and she made sure the wee girls were ok with all the hustle and bustle that goes with a wedding.

Shot in RAW, cropped, w/b adjusted, resized, jpegged.

Wonderful, fun portrait. They look happy and Hannah is so sweet.
Tracy

A very warm, loving snap.

Techinically its very good as well. Very sharp and well placed in the frame. its a good overall candid.

Hi Richard,

This is a wonderful photo of two very lovely ladies. Your daughter's pose is so cute. I like how the bridesmaid certainly made her feel at ease with her smile and laughter. I like the soft lighting on the subjects too.

I like the photo with the interesting background chair, but it would also make a terrific close crop of their expressive faces.

thanks for sharing this one... hope to see Jessica's wedding cameo in a future post. Lisa

Great light, perfectly sharp, nice BG.

Hi Richard,
Great portrait of these two, adoring scene well captured. But to be honest about the composition, I think both seats and partly visible window are distractive in my opinion. A tighter crop would improve the picture. I think. Made a WS to show what I mean. Nonetheless a great capture of these nice looking girls.
Hope you had a great weekend in Scotland.
Hans

Olá Richard,
Fantastic portrait, tender and lovely.
Great presentation.

Raimundo

This really is precious! Hannah is so beautiful all dressed up like a princess! I love the bridesmaids smile, an excellent portrait!

Hiya Richard

A beautful shot here, excellent DOF and really nice and natural, love this style for weddings and I am sure most brides and grooms prefer to look at these images and see what "really" went on behind the scenes. Your little lass is a darling she looks adorale here I hope you were very proud

TFS regards Helen

Hi Richard,
Your first para reminds me of my friend who was an unofficial photographer (not even a back-up)on a wedding. Surprisingly, a week after the weeding, his shots were occupying almost 80% of the wedding album - he made a lot better shots than what the official did. May I say, yours here nailed the quality of a wedding professional photographers' works.

The enchanting appearance, mood and expression of the bridesmaid and your lovely Hannah are making an impact to this great composition, hence produced a very pleasing result. Colors, details, clarity, dof... I believe you never failed on these.

Regards,
Ramdan

Very nice work. You know what you're doing. Everything here is as it should be.

Hi Richard.
God this is so sharp, it has a 3D look to it as well. Nice one Richard well done.
John.

Hi Richard, excellent thirds rule look and nice angle. I think I would have verticalized the window frame in pp, however, as the sole point of improvement here. Good lighting, excellent subject. TFS

Hi Richard,

what a beautiful shot! I like the joyful mood, I like the pose of both women *s* It shows kind of tenderness. Beautiful colours creating very consistent set. I like the composition - especially the use of a chair which balances well the frame. tfs

Love your processing here Richard! There is a setting on my Raw converter called "Faithful" and it's perfect for wedding shots. This looks like you did that! Really nice tones, adorable pose, very natural, which is best IMHO.
Wonderful work!

Hi Richard,

It's a lovely moment between Hannah and the Bridesmaid - both have very warm expressions. I read through the critques and I have to agree with Hans, I think you should have got in closer to capture that moment. I understand that some context is good but you know it's a wedding because you were there. If you took the subjects out of the frame the background alone wouldn't suggest a wedding. Hope that makes sense, that's how I think.

If you had come in close then I would suggest a bit of careful cloning to get the fronds of the bouquet away from the Bridesmaids smile.

All the other technical aspects, exposure, contrast etc look great.
