[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
June 21st 2008, A bunch of loonies watched the solstice sunrise at 4:15am. This was one of many shots taken that morning but this is my favourite, mainly bacause of the reflection of the sun on the water and also the shadow on the waves. The only thing I have changed is the size of the image, as I want your views on what type of things can be done to improve my photography......

Steve.

Hi Steven,
Welcome to TL,
This is a nice first post, In My Opinion it could be made better by having a straight horizon and by cropping half of the sky away splitting the image into thirds 1/3 sky and 2/3 land and water, you do not have to follow the rule of thirds for all images but it would help here, other than that it looks ok to me.
Regards Andy

Hi Steven,
Welcome to TrekLens, I hope you will enjoy this forum and find it useful to improve photography skills.
In my opinion, this is an awsome shot to begin with, keep it up! Nice sunset composition with great colours. I like sunsets/sunrises very much, if you check out my galler, you may find some ;).
The rule of the thirds, that Andy has just mentioned is usually useful for positioningy the horizon, so you shouls try it out. (For long time, I did not follow this rule either:))
Best wishes from Hungary,
Kristof
