Norwich Castle

Yesterday evening I made a nice walk through the city of Norwich to digest my dinner. The weather was gorgeous and while the sun was setting the colour of the sky became more and more intense blue. The low sun lightened the castle walls wonderful and took some shots of it with the Union Jack flying proud over the castle. Because the castle is build on top of a hill and nowadays situated in the centre of the city, it's not easy to get a clean and good POV, but here I give it a try. To give you an idea of my position while taking this shot; I was standing literally with my back and right shoulder against an edge in a wall.
PP work:

Minor adjustment of brightness and contrast. Cropped lower part of the photo were busses were spoiling the view. Resized and sharpened, add frame and text.

Regarding my camera setting; decreased the brightness control with 1.5 stop.

Hi Hans,
Very nice work, I really like the lighting in this capture. I like how one side is well lit and the other is a little darker. The detail in this part of the castle is really good. Very nice POV you chose for this shot.
Regards,
Kevin

Hello Hans,

It is a long time since I was here but you have reminded me what a beautiful and very unusual castle this is!
You have caught it from the very best aspect and the low, evening sun is bathing it in a lovely golden light. The shadows add an extra interest.
This could be from a guide book!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Hans

Good color & angled pov on the castle. I like the Union Jack atop the imposing wall like structure. Tfs!

This works well Hans, with the corner of the building off center, the warm light against one side! You did well with the shot, where's the fairy princess and the dragon?
B-)

HI Hans
You definitely got the right light as it stand tall with its flag waving in the light wind, also good shadows.
It was worth your being uncomfortable for a few moments to get this.

Hello Hans

You sure know when all the conditions are good to get a perfect photo. This is so well taken and your PV is marvellous even though at the time it may have been a little uncomfortable. It is an unusual castle too.

I like the light and the clear blue sky as well.

Hello Hans, the architecture is interesting - how dark it must have been back in the 'olden days' without electricity - the windows are so small and narrow - hard to get the arrows through them!! And no glass back then?
The dark trees, etc on the right make it look a bit heavy, but the castle itself is light enough.

The Flag in top, for this beautiful picture.!
Simple design, but sure very effective in those days.
It looks very well maintained too.
The horizontal framing makes it less quare.
Well done, Hans.

Hi Hans
A lovely monoblock building, solid and stout well lit in the low evening sun. I like it how it stands alone and the diagonal from left to top right

Good capture.
Excellent sharpness and details.
I would have leveled a tiny bit based on the vertical with the flag pole though which is more in the center line on the photo (but that's just me :-]).

Hoi Hans,
Adri
