I visited an old chemists' shop in Bath and was intrigued by the enormous bottles of potions he had ranged around the shelves and in the front window. This is one of them.

Captured in raw, adjusted levels and contrasts in raw, converted to jpg, adjusted highlights and shadows, cloned out the top of a modern plastic bottle beside the bottle, resized, sharpened, framed and signed

Thanks for looking, for your critiques and suggestions and have a healthy, happy day

This is extremely clever Silke! The perfume acts as a “sepia” on this old building, really excellent work, amazing how it comes out upside down, which always makes me rack my brain, but I know how it works! Excellent sharpness….I see you and Roy were thinking of tipping that Brandy for the afternoon! LOL! Excellent work as always! I love how this bottle pulls a “wide angle” effect and you can see the whole building in the shot!

That is a very cool catch Silke!
It really does look the city is trapped in that bottle.
Very unique capture!

Bonjour Silke,
Alors la, Chapeau!
Quel cliché original, le flacon sert d'écrin au monument qui lui s'en sert de miroir!
C'est magique!!!
Bravo!

WOW, great shot Silke, great POV colors and details, nice idea

Beautiful composition and nice colours as well. Great idea for a shot too.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Silke,

The poor guy that invented "ship in a bottle" will be disappointed that there is now a city in a bottle!

Creative shot, nice post processing work. I like the "old timey" coloring of the bottle and building therein.

thanks for sharing, Lisa

hi silke, neat shot, good color, i turned my head upside down and saw a parking lot and a neat looking building,
tfs,
scott

I think Linda has been tipping the brandy or didn't read your notes :). Lovely reflection in that bottle Silke and the image has been well composed. A pity about the base of the bottle but we can't always have everything our way. Chemists these days are a boring affair, no bottles and jars like this and they just don't smell the same.

Those up-side-down reflections look great Silke. Nicely composed, and the building and sky showing in the bottle look quite attractive too.
Well spotted

Good capture here; the soft background dominated by the sharp, and inverted, foreground at once is interesting in it's own right and also shows the background in all it's original detail.
The sepia tone from the liquid in the decanter adds to the old time feel.
Nice capture. I go back and forth as to whether it should be a bit more bright and intense but, maybe that would take from the mood, I don't know.
I do like this though, nicely done.
Wilt

Excellent.
Quite different from a water drop view.

Hello Silke,

This is so original! I'm still looking for the genie! Well someone must live in that grand house!

Wonderful, sharp details against a nicely blurred b/g.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
