i would really like to know.. how to realise this kind of portrait.. pleaseeee.. teach me about the tecnique!!.. is it a question of focus?!? light is superb!! portrait is so alive.. so intense.. so direct!! i really like it!!
thanks!
ciao Marco

I have no idea why I don't like this close up very much, the previous photos of this chap area really good but not sure about this one. don't know why! I was expecting something more punchy. maybe becasue of the large aperture and the skin tone.
the first Steven's photo remains my favourite and I think you have a big chance to win the competition with it.
cheers

Like all good photography, this portrait elicits some emotion. Stephen's vulnerability, whatever it might be, is conveyed in all the portraits of him so far. I only just saw the other shots of him. I would agree with bulibasa. I prefer the first one and the problem I have with this is the depth of field (even though you do have a sense of Stephen being "in your face", as it were) and also the somewhat diminished dignity of his runny nose. But that, of course, is very objective and written my someone who's worked in the healthcare industry for decades.
I'm going to post to the first one now...

Kind regards,
Jim

I explored your gallery here, and your other site, and enjoyed your presentation. I'm not a protrait photographer at all.

Hello Martin. Good capture. We agree it would be wrong to have wiped his nose. would like to see a macro of his hands on his walking stick. Thanks for sharing.

Regards Phil.

One of the best i've seen.
