Big Kettle!

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hello everyone,
this was taken last week at Lydney Junction station on the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire. The engine crew had just finished running the engine around the train, and while they were coupling it up I sneaked onto the track at the level crossing and got this with my zoom lens.
For those who are interested, this is a GWR 14XX class 0-4-2 tank engine, designed for branch line use. It looked right at home in the Forest of Dean!

HI John
Locomotives out our way are really different to this one.
Its nice to be able to see one. Unusual capture, but a good one for me

Hi, John.
What a Beauty!
This view of that engine, with its windows either side of the boiler, reminds me of my father saying to me, "I always wanted to be an engine driver, but my eyes weren't wide enough apart!". It took me a few years to realise why it was funny.
Anyway, this is a fabulous shot, John. The lighting is superb and the way the light has caught the smoke-door at the front is fantastic.
Perfectly exposed and sharp as a pin too.
Great note to accompany a lovely picture!
Best Wishes,
John.
