The Stonehaven Harbour, Aberdeenshire. If I'm ever out on my bike I usually end up here, this is my "happy place" a place where I feel relaxed and happy. After a hard day at work if the weathers nice I just head down here and get some peace and quiet as it's so much more chilled out than Aberdeen, even the seagulls are friendly in Stonehaven lol:-)
As Stonehaven is known for being a place where people come to Holiday I thought I'd do a postcard style image (I didn't intend this from the start) all I've done is rotate the image so that the wall looked relatively straight, I was going to crop the image so that the blank parts from the rotation were hidden but decided to fill them black and give the photo a rough pastel effect, setting are as follows:
stroke length: 2
stroke detail: 2
scaling: 69%
relief: 20
and the texture is canvas.
Finished off with a signature, I'm quite chuffed with this one.
EDIT: I've posted this in workshop, and may also paint this if I can find the time:-) |

Hello Steven,
I like it too!
It is the perfect subject for this sort of pp work. There are good 'lead in' lines and odd touches of red ensure the eyes traverse the whole scene. The tilt is interesting.
I would have liked to see the original in your w/s.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)
