[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi All

Been away for a couple of weeks, nice to be back, the garden was the first thing, everything grows so quickly.

This is a Clematis at the bottom of the garden, the label disappeared years ago.

Used a black background, no frame, feel free to add one, some one on the site thought that sometimes frames tended to unbalance the subject, who knows?.

Thanks
Gil

Hello Gil,
wonderful shot and nice macro!I like it.
Well done.
Greetings.
Siegfried

Hi Gil
I like this shot without a frame but have taken the liberty of doing a workshop. I just think a closer look at the flower might have improved the image.

Having said that you have done well with this shot to obtain good detail and colours.
TFS.
Mike

Hi Gil, missed your shots, this is a wonderfully clean and sharp image, lovely composition and a fine upload... I am hoping to sell a kidney, hahaha, to buy the canon 65mm macro 1-5x... what you do with your lens is superb... regards h

Hello Gil,
I like how you have angled the shot so that the centre of the flower is allowed to stand out in such poetic relief and colour--superb against the black BG.
A beautiful shot and macro.
I am impressed!

Hello Gil

I could read them criticize, and I already saw that you already have the name of this wonderful flower!
Great close, I like his amusing form, your light colors in your petals and your very detailed nucleus.
A beautiful shot, and big visual!
Congratulations my friend...

Sérgio

Hi Gil,
I like the diagonal composition of the clematis. The white petals really show well against the dark b/g. I see that you and I have the same Nikkor macro lens. I like this lens a lot, and my only complain is it is too darn sharp. Thanks for your comments about my 'beta test' image. I am recovering nicely. My best regards, Danilo

Hello Gil

A really beautiful compo here, perfect DOF, wonderful lighting and I love the BG colour too

TFS kind regards Helen

Hi Gil,
Beautiful macro picture nicely composed and presented with great colors and sharp picture,
Excellent done
compliments
Michel

A pretty clematis Gil and well captured. The colours stand out nicely against the background and even with the flower centre being dark some very good detail still to be seen.
David

Hi Gil,
No need for a frame, I'd crop alittle from the right hand side and bottom, just to move the coloured part of the flower off centre a tad.
I like the dark BG.
Cheers,
Pete.

Hi Gil

A superb macro shot of the Clematis. It resembles a passionfruit flower. The diagonal axis adds dynamism. Good color & sharpness. Tfs!

Hi Gil,
Good angle,beautiful composition,congratulation.

I like this diagonal composition. It does not really need a frame but a frame would not harm it either if a delicate light frame is used. For adding a frame however I think one would prefer the full flower - my personal feeling however. The black background is good but maybe takes away a bit from the dark centre of the flower.

It still remains a lovely photo!

Wia

Hi Gil,

No need for a frame here - I do like to make frames, but that is just me having fun.
Lovely how that deep purple looks against the creamy white.
I just wonder if a slight gamma correction upward -on a selected area of the heart only- will show a bit more detail. When I have a WS left I will give it a try..

TFS
Els

PS:
Okay, I made a WS, but have no more possibility to upload. Well I tried the gamma correction, and although it gives more visible detail it somehow spoils the atmosphere.
Conclusion - this is lovely just the way it is.
