[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On a favourite walk of mine, along the banks of the river Annan at Hoddam I came upon a field of buttercups. I got down low much to the bemusement of my dog as she thinks the only intersting thing in a filed is a rabbit.

Hello Bev

A lovely shot here nice DOF and beautiful BG. A very modern feel to it with nice contrasting black frame

TFS kind regards Helen

Hi Bev
Thank you for presenting 39% of you image as black space. Yellow and black do go well together. I have done a workshop to indicate that in my view a smaller border would work just as well. Your original image is worth the work I have done and for that I say good idea and well seen. TFS.

Hi Bev,
Quite pretty and very artistic. The focused buttercup is well presented against a background of yellows. I really like the attractive b/g. Best regards, Danilo

merhaba dear bev
beautiful lovely yellow flowers.beautiful lovely colours.well done.
best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

You have got yourself a wonderful DOF with F14.

Hi Bev,
I tried the buttercups and because of the shiny oily surface, I could not get it right, so I turned it into sepia. You did a better job.
Very educational for your dog.

PS I just did read that a smaller border would work, but for me this one works just fine, although I would have added a yellow outside border 1 pixel wide.

Hello,

Merveilleuse fleur, jaune comme je les aimes, sobre et de toute beauté.

Bravo et amitiés

Nicou

Hello Bev,

An eye catching image with the combination of yellow and black. I'm intrigued by that rather strange insect[?] which is clinging to the underside of the bud to the left of the main flower.

Bokeh is flourishing considering it's F14.

Perhaps I would like a little more colour contrast between that main flower and the BG.

Just out of interest, without the intention of doing a WS, I put this image into PS, and did what I always do as a first stage in any PP. That is, I clicked on Auto Levels to see what would happen.

I thought the result was worth posting as a WS - see what you think.

Regards,

Peter.

Hello Bev,

Wow! This is super!
Great dof. The focal point is sharp and detailed but the buttercups beyond, seem to go on for ever!
The black border is the perfect contrast!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
