Hi
This is a picture of a fungus called Dryad's Saddle.
The mushroom's shape and lateral stem make it look suitable for a tree-dwelling nymph, the dryads of Greek mythology, to ride.
Also known as the 'Pheasant's back' mushroom.
They can be found alone, in clusters of two or three, or forming shelves. Young specimens are soft but toughen with age. It is particularly common on dead elm and is also found on living maple trees.
