Good morning peeps

Well this was not the type of image I had planned for this weeks theme. I was going to take 3 different views of the same subject from different angles and varying DOF.

However when I shot these last week I couldn't resist the play on words as I looked through them and saw the triple itch it just reminded me so much of the word triptych so this then ended up to be my theme posting.

This little rabbit was sat in the church yard opposite work one lunchtime and was so totally unaware of me watching him.

Now I appologise if TL members all over the world end up looking at this image and scratching.. strange isn't it.. like yawning its catchy, one does it and then everyone does.. same thing of you see someone or something scratching... invariably you will end up with an itch yourself.

Information below from Wikipedia

A triptych from the Greek τρίπτυχο [ tri'ptu.xo ] tri- "three" + ptychē "fold") is a work of art (usually a panel painting) which is divided into three sections, or three carved panels which are hinged together and folded. It is therefore a type of polyptych, the term for all multi-panel works; the diptych has two panels. The middle panel is the larger one and is flanked by two smaller, but related, works. While the root of the word is the ancient Greek "triptychos", the word arose into the medieval period from the name for an Ancient Roman writing tablet, which had two hinged panels flanking a central one. The form can also be used for pendant jewelry.

The triptych form arises from early Christian art, and was the standard format for altar paintings from the Middle Ages onwards. Its geographical range was from the eastern Byzantine churches to the English Celtic churches in the west. Renaissance painters and sculptors such as Hans Memling and Hieronymus Bosch used the form.

The Verdun Altar in Klosterneuburg Monastery From the Gothic period onward, both in Europe and elsewhere, altarpieces in churches and cathedrals were often in triptych form. One such cathedral with an altarpiece triptych is Llandaff Cathedral. The Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp, Belgium, contains two examples by Rubens, and Notre Dame de Paris is another example of the use of triptych in architecture. One can also see the form echoed by the structure of many ecclesiastical stained glass windows. The triptych form has since influenced contemporary painters and art photographers, some of whose triptychs don't hinge.

HMM is that meaning I am an "Unhinged photographer"!!! oh well I thought it was just a blonde thing lol.

TTFN and thanks for viewing and reading my waffle

Kind regards Smurfie

Hello Helen

Yes in fact we have something in common with this rabbit
when we were a long time stopped.
We opened the mouth, we have itches, we got ready.
Beautiful collage and beautiful look of this small one.
Very well presented.
Congratulations!

Hi Helen, excellent play on words and three good quality images. Nice colour and detail and I like the overlapping. An animal we have in abundance in mainland Australia but not many down this way, another of the pests imported by the English settlers.
David

Hi Helen,
Great idea and the title fits also perfectly . Nice play with the pictures and well mounted in this PP work .
