Another picture from the Royal Norfolk Show - this time of a demonstration by a woodsman showing how to get through an 11inch diameter log in the quickest time - 22 chops in this case. There are somewhere between 8,000 and 10,000 competitive woodsmen/lumberjacks in the world who compete at all sorts of events - the guy here was the world champion in 2005 and 2006
PP work - selected the background and added some gausian blur to make more of the subject matter but still retain some detail in the crowd. Resized and added the border |

Love the expression on his face Mark.
I think you have good timing here as you can still see a chip of wood flying in the air.
This guy must be pretty fast, because he is already chopping, while the chip still flies around...
Great view you give here; straight forward.
And the colors and sharpness are great and I think you did well adding the blur to the background.
Cheers,
Anneke

Hello, Mark.
Terrific!
By Jove, this guy can chop! What an expression on his face and what a great impression of sheer power, especially with that chunk of wood flying through the air.
A few hundred years ago and this guy could have landed himself a plum job at the Tower of London!
Very clear and sharp capture with a nicely out-of-focus/blurred background.
Excellent!
Best Wishes,
John.
I love watching these guys Mark. The expression of determination well captured and good colour and detail. We have a few world champions in all forms of log cutting down this way. TFS,
David
