[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello
This is my submission to this week's theme

This is a Painted Lady Butterfly. We have raised them here at the Country Park from caterpillars and today was their release day.

This shows three pov's - top shows the wings open from the top, left shows the wings closed and right shows the wings open from underneath.

Painted ladies do not hibernate in Britain; instead they migrate to and from northern Africa. They can arrive in early spring, but late May and June are more usual. They are fairly common across Britain, numerous in some years (RSPB website)

Three really impressive shots - the top one being the pick of the crop. Lovely sharp details and vibrant colours and a super way to show all of the colours of the butterfly.
