Hi Silke,
This is a nicely composed shot and shows the English coutryside well, I like the use of the road to lead the eye through the shot, as you say the sky is washed out, maybe the use of a Grad ND filter would have helped but I know that you have to limit the kit when on holiday.

Hahaha...I have almost the same view pictured and right now even have it as desktop picture on my laptop. Tomorrow I will post it as WS Due the position of the sun it was hardly impossible to get a blue sky (while it was) Anyway the lush greens are great and indeed typical English landscape. Great frame work too!

Good Sunday Morning Silke

Really like the thashed roof cottage in amoung the trees. The front lighting gove you some nice shadows. To bad the sky wasn't more cooperative, oh well we can't have it all.

Oh yes, a green and very pleasant land Silke. That's what I noticed about England too. And the lovely farm cottages too. And the flower boxes outside the pubs and buildings (in July to Sept). Also the fields then in the middle of summer were more like patchwork.
The green here is so attractive.

I actually pondered over this for some time yesterday at this time Silke, such a pity there was not more cloud cover, then the sky would have looked better. A lovely display of greens however and well composed.
