Skipton is a very small town, and so typical of many other small towns we passed through in the UK. This church has stood for a long time and still wears the soot of long-closed coal mining and processing operations. But the springs are greener here than they used to be, and some day, perhaps that church will finish shedding its black coat.

Thanks for looking and have a healthy, happy week

I just love this wide angle shot Silke, the cool colors are suddenly interrupted by the beautiful pink tree! What a sight! Really like the BIG sky approach with this! I like how the road sweeps around too! A beautiful place!

Hello Silke

What a delightful shot here my friend! That cherry tree in blossom looks abosoltuely wonderful and the angle of this shot of the church is just right. Nice strong framing suits the image well

Hi Silke

Looks like an attractive town. The purple flowered tree appears to be Jacaranda, but couldn't be, as the UK is not tropical. Tfs!

Hi Silke,
I like the composition in this picture. The old church is well positioned and the colorful trees look great against the greeen grass and blue sky. A well presented picture of this small town in the UK.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Silke, nice shot of this church, the trees with the colorful blossoms make this pic not to sad ;-) well done Marleen

Hello Silke,

What I find so unbelievable is you posting a churh which I have posted! With the huge distance between us, it just doesn't seem possible. I go past this building every week on my way to the supermarket but, I pass the other side!

You have really done it justice! The wide angle, the surrounding spring trees, give it a meaningful context. There are many avenues for our eyes to use to investigate the scene.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Those cherry blossoms make this a pretty scene, Silke.
I like the lady gardening on the very right - I am pleased you left her in the image.
Perhaps the church needs a good 'water-blasting' to get rid of the dirt and coal dust!!

Lovely detail in the image Silke. Good colour and a strange light, as if it was a hazy day. Did you try a level on that front wall of the Church?
