Hi All

I found this young Ladybird Lava on my Basil plant.
I had to take Her into an environment that had good light and no air movement to try and get a motion free shot as the lava length was just over 1mm. Then I took her back to the Basil plant.

All those white hairs and blemishes on the leaf, I have no idear.

A little ditty that came to my mind.

Ladybird, Ladybird fly away home,
Your houses in on fire and your children all gone,
All except one who's name was Ann,
Who hid herself under the frying pan.

Whoa! Scary or what!

It's amazing such a gruesome little larva can develop into the beautiful ladybird. Nature's so awesome.

Very impressive macro compo. Good lighting and DOF used. Well done!

Regards and TFS...

Funny how ugly they look to us when we consider the adults to be so beautiful :)
Outstanding details, amazing colours and fine tight composition

Hi Gil,
Holy cow, 1mm long...I would never have seen it, never mind focus on it.
For something so small, you have captured some remarkable detail, well done.
That is a micro lens, not a macro then?
Pete.

Hello Gil

beautiful macro shot
I like the strong green in this Bg in black.
she emphasizes the details and outlines of the leaf well
and your bug in black helps to give a beautiful prominence.
A beautiful composition and very well composed!
Congratulations!

Sérgio

Hi Gil,
I have not seen an immature stage of the ladybird beetle/bug before. This is fantastic. I like the details - the spikes on its back and the white strands from the basil. Best regards, Danilo
