Hello Everyone,

Another dull and wet day for us in England. I hope conditions are better in other places so that we can share your sunshine, even if on a photograph!

Here is a little robin which I captured several weeks ago. He was sitting on this post trilling away loudly. I know that robins are fiercely territorial and assumed that he was declaring that this was his patch of land.

He actually looked a little ragged, perhaps he had been in a scrap and was warning others of his superiority and toughness!

Whatever, robins are my favourite passerines and I just love to see their perky demeanour and their cheerful, red breasts.

The shot was taken in Wray where I had gone with my husband to enjoy their Scarecrow Festival.

Many thanks for stopping by.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph.
Bev :-)

Hi Bev,
This is a great shot of a Robin perched on a post. The color and detail in the feathers is very good. Nice sharp image with excellent composition. Very nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

Hi Bev,
What a lovely shot of this beautiful bird even if he is a bit ragged. Nice detail and colours. I love the way you have framed this.

Hi Bev,
Excellent sharp image of this little red breasted fellah! Excellent how the bird and pole are "extracted" from the background. Great DOF fine presentation.
Lovely posting my dear!

Bonjour Bev,
he has just come into my room oops he's to be saved by the window ;O)
Your photography and work on the frame, are so realistic that it gives the impression when opening the web page that this beautiful robin is alive. Beautiful PP work. What great precision in detail thanks to the sharpness of your POV (we see up to his little beak open). Superb texture of his plumage, good colours and DOF. Bravo!
TFS, Corinne

Hi Bev. excellent shot of, I believe Britans most popular bird. Wonderful clarity of both the robin and perch is enhanced by your clever but not over fussy frame. Thanks for sharing.

Regards Phil.

P.S. Its been a few years, about 20, since I did Caton Wray Fell race.

an attractive composition with frame, sharpness make your little bird in good action outstanding from nice background.
a lovely picture.

Hi Bev,
Great capture of this little chap, good sharp details and colours with a good DOF, I like the PP work on the post and frame, it looks like a picture standing behind the Robin.

This is a wonderful image, Bev! The bird's face and tilt of the head make it especially expressive. I love the gradient light in the background, and the border treatment is superb. Excellent:)

i like the way you have presented your robin, my tame robin(scrag) has disappeared from my garden (i have loads of pics on TN)there seems to be a young robin (scraglet)to have taken his place. i hope i can tame him too.

The combinations of your framing, your bokeh and the crispness of the capture itself all up up to an image that simply jumps right off the screen
Great work

Complements.!

hi Bev

Surely a great macro shot. The bird is so sharp and very well poised with a perfect choice in BG. A good capture with the 70-300mm lens, although we were told 300mm would soften the sharpness?

I like your pp work on 3-D effect.

Hi Beverley,
what a nice presentation of lovely little bird.Perfect clarity.Beautiful colours.TFS.Necla.

Great image and well presented-I love the framing!!!! well done Bev---Lynne

Hello Beverly
That's a very nice bird, a species we don't have here in Québec nor in America. The composition and the background are perfect. The colors are very natural. I love the detail of the post and the glint in the eye of the bird.
Nicely done
Serge

It's lovely Bev how is is sitting in front of your frame - perky, that is a term I should remember, but I just read the left/right brain discussion and now I am all confused ^-^.

I'm afraid I can not send you our weather, because we just got yours.

TFS this perky fellow.

Els

Hi Beverly,
Great presentation of this Sentinel !! Puting the frame 'behind' the bird, gives even more depth.
Good colors and clarity. The sharpness is .... just enough.
Good job done.
greetings,
Joop!
