Good morning Peeps

I have a rush this morning as very little time. I had to prepare my image for todays theme from old captures I have on the PC at work. So I found two yesterday and prepared them using paint.net... that then caused me a problem as while they are both floral based I could not decide which to post. Both shots were taken last year on my little panasonic I left a tad of the green on each bud as it just looked too washed out without it. I have chosen this one as my main posting but will put the other in as a workshop... let me know if you think I made the right decision.

Got to rush for now lots to do today.

TTFN Kind regards Smurfie

This looks good Helen. Those cherry buds stand out so well - we seem to notice them so much more this way
BRAVO

It is always difficult to choose, Helen, as both shots have their merits.
I think you have made the better choice. This shot has more depth to it where light and shade are playing. As well as extra WORK!

I had a similar problem but desaturated too many to put in w/s. I may post some later in the gallery.

Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hello Helen

Beautiful and artistic composition. Awesome PP work.

Regards and TFS...

Dear Helen,

This is good, Helen.
You did fine.
The frame lines, the tiny drops of colours... all make a dear mood.
Excellent.
Enjoy the WE.

Greetings Helen ;)))
Wonderful artwork...
Best wishes,

well done, love your pastel color, simple but poignant.
your framing really contributes well on this photo.
as always, good job.

Hi dear friend,
it's always hard to decide when you have such lovely shots :)
I like your choice and I like the framing style too.
Looks perfectly like this.
Have a lovely day.
Ioana

Pitty these buds are so small and take up only such a small part of the image.
In way I think this would look so much nicer if you left just a touch of green in it... that would keep the picture "as one"... (hope you know what I mean..)
Or maybe if it would be more close up... so only a few buds with 2 or 3 leaves. That would also look great.
Funny how you come to realize that desaturation isn't just something you can do with "any" picture... Guess we learned something today... well atleast I did!

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Helen,

Hello Helen,
This is a very wholesome entry to the challenge. I love the vividness of the colored blossoms which are complemented by the silvery green foliage. Well done. Greetings! Danilo

Hi Helen, what a great post! You did a very great pp work on it! Nice colors and good framing! Marleen

Hi Helen, nicely done, I know this is a difficult technique because mine took most of today! (you have a wicked little bent on some of these themes...;)

The subject lays nicely in the frame with the angle rising to the right upper corner. Good idea. TFS

Some fine PP work here, I might add more saturation here to enhance the little flowers.

Thomas

For mine you chose the right one Helen, this is more defined. A lovely soft image and the numerous splashes of pink stand out well. TFS,
David

I love the PoV and composition here, Helen
Oddly enough, it is not one that *I* would have chosen for a partial desat -- but this theme was a really tough assignment.

I like the one you posted the best Helen. I really like the composition and the way you have done the buds with the hint of green. I even like the frame very much. Well done. And thanks once more for making us thing.
Warm Regards
Wanda

Hi Helen,
I agree with your decision. This is more expressive and the diagonal work very fine
here. The other one is good and more predictable. Good work.

Hi Helen,
I think you made the right choice . This is my prefered one anyway . The other one have to much colored surface I think . The little touch of red and green are just enough to contrast with the B&W and I am sure there is a lot more work in this one .
Daniel
I know that you know the song by hart but thanks again for the work you are doing weeks after weeks .

Hi Helen,

A well composed selective coloring technique you attained here. Perfect for the theme.

Hi Helen,
you defnitely made the right choice, this picture is a lot prettier than the other, well at least more original! i fond it very pure and soft. beautiful.
LuDivine

Hi Smurfie,

I like this choice because it's a little different than having a single flower in the frame which isn't that unusual for tl (I've done it myself). There are also more intricate details to this shot. Don't misunderstand, the other photo is beautiful in it's own right.

Thanks for making me use my "blond...albeit Clairol" brain!! Lisa

Yes,Right choice,This scene made a rhythmic line of color,Not too strong but enough to outstanding in monotone BG,Well composition and good sharpness.Nice capture,TFS.

Fantastic work and you did a great composition. Excellent contribution to the theme.
Best wishes,
Achim

Hi Helen,
beautiful work for the friday theme.I liked frame and beautiful harmony of the colours.TFS.Necla.

Hi Helen,
Quite a dreamy feel to this one, the leaves almost look as if they were shot on infra red film.
The pink of the blossom goes well with the soft greys, I like it.
Pete.

Hello Helen!
Great desaturation. Beautiful details and contrast. Nice border.
TFS, Best regards, Zorica
