[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On a visit to The Rococo Garden in Painswick, I spotted this old roller resting in a quiet corner.

Taken as JPEG, converted to TIFF for PP in PS7 and FastStone.

Hello, Peter.

This is a fine restful pastoral scene.

And the composition is impressive too: the roller, the focal point, lies half-hidden behind that wall but what other treasures lie there amongst the wild flowers that have overtaken that area? Then the eye travels to the bifid tree-trunk on the right and on toward the smoother grassland which leads, again, we know not where. What rustic for years used that roller, only one day to abandon it in a corner to be left forever? Or was the roller overtaken by some modern and noisy machine that could do the job more efficiently?

As always, perfectly exposed with fine details in even the darkest shadows. Good colours, sharp as a pin and very tastefully framed. This is not one at which to glance or which to assess from the thumbnail - it is one to linger over and savour.

Excellent!

Kind Regards,

John.

Hello Peter,

I knew this had to be an English garden the moment that I saw it!
An unusual subject but the shot is nicely detailed and perfectly composed. I like the triangular stone wall in thef/g, balanced perfectly by the triangle of shaded leaves in the opposing corner.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
