[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As an alternative to dairy farming, which is becoming a more and more difficult way to make a living, this enterprising local family has planted lavender on some of their fields.

The lavender plants in the FG, this side of the drystone wall, are different garden species propagated for sale. The main field is very soon to be harvested for distillation into the valuable lavender oil.

At the bottom right of the field are some bee hives placed to take advantage of the lavender, which gives a delicate flavour to the honey.

Hi Peter, charming shot with all the different types of lavender in full bloom. I have some fields near me and the scent is almost overpowering. Lovely detail in the drystone wall and the green fields beyond. Informative notes too - I doubt I'd have spotted the bee hives if you hadn't pointed them out.

Best regards, Roberto

A stunning photo Peter! Excellent purple lines leading to the gorgeous sky! What an incredible pastural shot! Superb!

What is beautiful in this shot are the different colours against that blue yet clouded sky. Those neat rows of deep purple contrating with the foreground.
Very nicely composed and presented

hello Peter,
I think I can smell this one! I like the composition ith the garden plants in the foreground and then the stone wall. The purple of the lavender and the blue of the sky make a knock out combination.I love the tiny detail of the beehives,. pertfectly charming.
