This is another of the bottles of potion that so intrigued me when I visited an old chemists' shop in Bath. this one was a bit trickier to capture because it was deeper inside the shop and the day was rather overcast (it rained later :))
The shop itself was a delightful find -- I was sent there because I needed to replace some lost medication and this shop was reputed to have just about anything (small quantities, but truly just about anything). There were lots of mysterious bottles and boxes and tiny chests of drawers ranged all around. The boxes, bottles and drawers were beautifully hand-lettered in Gothic calligraphy, though I am afraid you cannot make out the lettering in the reflections here.

Captured (handheld) in raw, adjusted levels and contrasts in raw, converted to jpg, adjusted highlights and shadows, resized, sharpened, framed and signed

Thanks for looking, for your critiques and suggestions and have a healthy, happy day

Man, this one just has such IMPACT, I love the Shine of the glass, the green is a super eye-catcher here. So, is this the stuff you rub on your face and it removes "time" from your face? Is it a chemical PEEL? I'll have to give it a try! Nice work on this one Silke and well seen.. I just love light through glass!

B-)

A bit cloudy but not very important. An original idea Silke.

Iso.

What a lovely old bottle Silke!
The colours and reflections through the glass make the image more interesting
Superb capture and POV

Hi Silke,
Wouldn't be great if we could bottle the good times, and relive them at a later date.
Then again, our cameras do a pretty good job of that.
Lovely POV, I like the hint of mortar and pestel to set the scene, well seen. Pardon the pun.
Pete.

hello Silke,
intersting take on thsi theme. Love the luscious green of the bottle...but not sure I would want to drink it, I might shrink like Alice!
Bev

Hello Silke,

As a visitor, you must see things with a new and refreshing eye. You notice things that locals take for granted.
This is a fabulous image, capturing a bygone era. Perfect composition and a very well chosen dof.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Very cool and very well seen. Excellent composition and nice lighting. Great atmosphere.

I wonder if you would have looked a little better if the contrast was increased slightly.

David

Hi Silke,
Very relevant title!
And good addition for the theme!
The foreground is so clear and sharp, whereas the BG is lightly blurred! I love the reflection on the bottle!
Bravo! Annie

Crystal clear colors and razor sharp details to this unique image.
Lovely reflections seen in the secret green potion. Very tastefully framing to this striking image.

You just found this, Silke, but it is so perfectly balanced and composed, it appears as if you had carefully arranged all the components. Well done!

I do like the shape of the bottle and lid, and that green is so emerald-like - super colour. And the 2 green bottles on the shelf in the BG compliment the beauty of the big one
Good one Silke
Janice

Hello Silke
very interesting composition, there is lots of things you have captured in the Bottle. green potion is very attractive and the placement is superb, a tilt up shot gives it a high.
nice shot

hi silke.
i have never thought to photograph light through glas. you have started my mind racing.

i like the image contained within the bottle. it is both upside down and mirrored. absolutely fascinating and well captured.

this reminds me of a shop in Beamish heritage village.
if only i had opened my eyes.

hugs
Brian

I must say, well done under the extreme conditions and no tripod. I looked the bottles reflection of quite thourghly trying to find you in the reflection, but could not. Like the vibrant color of the bottled up time. Cheers

Dan

hi silke, neat shot, looks like a mad scientist's lab or something, very cool colors too,

Hello Silke,

A very creative idea for this fine still life!
The way the liquid filled bottle works as a lens and refracts the window is amazing...
Well arranged and presented in this fine composition!

Hi Silke,
Good eye , I like to see the reflection up side down in the green bottle . Godd idea and well executed . Were you the genius out of the bottle ?
Daniel

Like compo and colours !
( a green medicine ... don't drink it at once ... hihi )
Also like the DOF and POV.

The " but " ( always have - never mind )
I would soften that light from the window.
