Good morning Peeps

Strange title for my image today?

Well a couple of weeks ago I was cutting the dead heads off the roses (If you do this it forces the plant to produce more buds rather than producing rose hips) and I accidently cut a very pretty bud. I don't tend to cut flowers from the garden for the house as they never last very long. This little bud only had a short stem and I popped it in a shot glass of water and my son and I were in competition about how long it would take for the bud to open into full bloom.

First thing the next morning voila! so I grabbed the rebel and took a dozen or so shots with just the natural light from the kitchen window.

I used several of the shots for my "Time" posting yesterday but wanted to show you one of this lovely accident in full size.

Framed in photofiltre as follows.

Set the original image to your chosen, contrast, colour and brightness.. then save a copy!!!

Create a duplicate layer of the original and using the square selector mark out an inner frame section.

Invert this selection so your working on the outside of the frame.

Adjust the colour, contrast or brightness to the desired setting for the external frame.

Then take the rubber and simply rub out the top layer of the area you want to show through.

Then invert the selection again and run a syle blur frame selecting the "outside" option. This created the black frame and the framing will only infill the areas you have not already rubbed out.

Add text, merge the layers down, sharpen and resize ready for upload.

And what are you doing with the copy you made originally?... nothing.. unless you made a mistake and messed up the PP work.. in which case the copy you made will save your bacon :-)

TTFN and thanks for viewing my image.. have a great weekend.

Luv Smurfie

Good morning Helen,

A lovely presentation of that bud that came to life in your glass of water.
Good capture, nothing accidental about it, but what do I know, after reading the left/right brain discussion I am totally confused....

Wow.. this is sooooo pretty!
Great colors and it's razor sharp!
I love the way it goes from pink to peach colors...
And.. I also like the frame. A bit large, but it fits.

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Helen,
I love the detail and colours of this beautiful rose. Accidents sometimes make great pictures as in this case.

Very beautiful. You show all the veins on the petals, and it looks crisp and sharp Helen. I like the colours too.

I always save the original photo. And if I do PP work on it for TL and think I might need a print of it, I will 'save as' before I resize down to the TL measurements. So I end up sometimes with 3 photos.

The capture of the flower per se is wonderful - sharp and clear.
I think I'd have liked to see an even drker frame -- but that's just me. I love the OOB element here

Hi Smurfie,
Excellent presentation wit good colours and sharp details, your PP work is great making the rose pop out of the screen, it looks to be miles from the shotglass.
Well done

Wow Helen ,it's truly a wonderful image , sharpness here is amazing , the tints of pink are brought out fabulously in the natural light , i like the OOB presentation very much.
I like your description as of how it came to become a posting here from accidentally cutting the little bud down to the actual posting ,
