Good morning peeps

Very quick upload this morning as I am on my way out of th door to travel to Blenheim palace. So far the weather looks good today so fingers crossed!

I shot todays image ar RAF Coningsby which is about 5 mins drive from my dads house. On the last day of my visit there the aircraft were all out strutting thier stuff and the Lancaster Bomber had just landed and taxied along to park just in front of me.

The lighting was all wrong here and I had to shoot this through chain link fencing but I wanted to show you this image for the contrast in time and age of these aircraft, both still airworthy and flown by the same pilots too, some people have all the best jobs dont they!

The old Lancaster sat just in front of me and looking so majestic and then two Typhoons took off and flew over. Just perfect timing for me as they came into the frame with the Lancaster.

Got to rush off for now, have a great day

Hi Helen,
What a crakin shot, I love it, the composition is great with the old girl sat on the runway and the Typhoons coming in to land, I have done a small workshop but made hardly any adjustments as it great the way it is.
Well done
Regards Andy

Yes, perfect timing! You composed it wonderfully Helen. But that painting makes me shiver!
Andy's WS is good, but I think I prefer the darkness of the old bomber. Darker and it makes me feel more dread. . .
Well done
Janice

Hi Smurfie,
This is a stunning comparission, the 21st century Typhoons and the Lancaster from the previous century! Well observed and captured. Th contrast of the dark Lancaster and the bright sky isn't easy to handle and you did very well. Migh be even possible to improve the brightness of the fuselage a tad by selecting this area and brighten it a bit. Overall superb camera handling!
Wellcome to the aviation photographers comunity ;-)

Nice work on the theme Helen, excellent details, a little dark on my end but I can see some stories behind this old plane! Would love to know them!

Excellent capture of the moment where the modern jets in the sky are juxtaposed against the nose of the old bomber. Great details showing the painted phantom and the extended guns. Very well composed - nice work!

grt composed shot Helen realy like how you got the moderen jets to complemt the old Lanc well done

Hi Helen,
Very good POV showing the strong contrast with the old and the new age in aviation's history from big to samll, heavy to light, manual to computerized. In a relative short Time! Very effective demonstration!
Bravo! Annie

Very fine capture here - superb composition! And Andy's WS does just enough to really bring out the details hidden in the shadows

Great shot "smurf"! I've done shots through chain link fences myself. They won't stop us! Since I love planes to begin with, this is a great one showing an historic one. I also like how you have it positioned in the frame kind of "looking" at the others coming in for landing.

Nice interesting shot of all of them. thanks for sharing, ~ Lisa :D

Hi Helen,
Very well taken action picture of the two Typhoons on bacgroung, excellent details and POV.

Best Regards,

Great juxtaposition between the old (and classic_ and the new - superb timing to get the three aircraft in the same shot like this.
Thanks for sharing

As a history lover I like this photo. Good title as the RAF jets hover over the WW2 relic. Yes the backlight is too much but I like the composition here. Thanks for sharing.
