[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a blue tit i spotted feeding among seed heads of a wild plant, cow parsley i think. There were 5 or 6 of these little charmers, all flitting about the hedgerows. They wouldn't sit still for any length of time and i found myself following them up this county road, just tantalisingly out of range.

I didn't want to crop too tightly and risk losing detail, so i left the surrounding plants (this type of flower head is known as an 'umbel'). I'm hoping it will give a sense of scale and perspective to the image.

PP was minimal, slight crop, sharpen and frame.

Any hints or tips most welcome, i find capturing birds quite frustrating.

Regards c.d.

Hi Cameron,
Well done! Wee birds never stand still long enough to get them framed, never mind taking the shot lol. Like the use of the cow parsley, as his prop...
Funny how cow parsley looks like giant hogweed!!

Cheers
HM

i think you have done well here to capture such an interesting image. you obviously don't have a zoom lens to get close to the subject. i find birds hard to capture too unless they are really tame like my robin (seen on TN) Patience is indeed a virtue for nature photographers but sometimes it becomes quite obvious that the subject of your interest isn't going to play ball and you will have to wait till next time, next year, to try again. Bird photography can be so unbelievably frustrating, not to mention time consuming and utterly absorbing.tfs

Hello Cameron,it wasn't until I opened up your shot that I saw the blue-tit,it was the cow parsley that initially caught my eye.
I think that you did extremely well in capturing this little acrobat.
The details are clear, and are set off well against the blurred bg.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hi Cameron
Fantastic composition with a wonderful shallow depth of field

Pez

grt caspture CD agree with you not to crop to much as it definintley would have took something away from your composition

Hai Cameron,

What a good captured, your POV was excellent. The muted BG, gave your POV enhancement.
