Great Willowherb,, Epilobium hirsutum.
One of the prettiest of wild flowers, soft pastel shades with fine lines and good definitions. These are becoming very abundant here, along hedgerows and waste ground. A good addition to the technicolour pallet of nature (bit deep that!!).anyway, enough of the waffle!!
A large family, the willowherbs, hairy plants, can be quite tall, lanceolate to elliptical leaves, sometimes toothed.
Solitary flowers, found in the axils of the stems and leaves, 4 sepals, 8-10mm across. stamen and style erect. The fruits are about 5cm long...
They flower from June to September, along riversides, banks, hedges and tall herb communities.

Hello Howard
A nice capture here, excellent sharp detail and texture, good lighting and placement within the frame to show the bud at the bottom too.
