Good morning Peeps

Another nice day here for the race! (the human race)

After having such a nice time on Saturday at the country park I decided to go again for longer trip Sunday. Taking just one lens this time so I didn't have so much weight to carry.

It seemed like a wonderful idea until I sat on my bicycle... ooo lord I need to get some of those special padded cycle shorts, I forgot how long I had cycled for the day before!

This was the first time I have been to the park in the morning and what a delight it was. The sun was in a completley different position giving superb shooting conditions. I positioned myself on the bank of the lake and sat there for a good two hours just soaking up the sunshine and shooting the wild fowl on the lake.

This swan clearly thought I had some food as it came straight over as soon as I arrived but I am affraid I dont feed them so it hung around for a short while and I got a few shots before it swam away in disgust.

Now then I need to try and tie this image in to Hans (Green barons) posting for today as its his turn to throw me the gauntlet this week.

Well Hansie.. how about this then? All the swans in this country are officially the property of the queen and royal family who just happen to give out knighthoods and live in Castles too :-)

Phew a lucky post for me actually as I really had no idea what Hans had in mind for today.. but I need a clue for tomorrow please Hans ;-)

OK peeps thanks for the visit and reading my waffle, have a great day

TTFN kind regards Smurfie

Hi Helen.
Nice post of this swan.
It looks if he has last some feathers ?
Regards.
Jan

This is a gorgeous pose here, nice drips off of him, a bit OE on the feathers. I did a WS trying to level it all out. White is so hard to shoot.

Excellent capture Helen!
The white swan against such deep blue water is magnificent! Congratulations! Annie

Hi Helen,

Really good detail in the feathers, and the swan is nicely posed, I like the drops of water from the beak.

Cheers

Indeed Helen, well worth the pain to get such a good capture - very difficult with the oily feathers and sunshine - but you managed it well.

LOvely pose captured Helen. Although Linda's workshop is good I didn't find the OE too bad. Nice detail in the feathers and the drops from the beak a nice touch.
David

By looking at the light, details and your note, one can feel a bit of what was going on that morning.
Well done.

hello Helen,
Such an aristocratic looking swan set off by the dark dappled water.
Lovely capture with such clarity. The water droplets are visible on the breast of the swan.
I love swans, and was out feeding them bread today.
TFS, Joni.
