This is a most interesting place. Traquair House, in Innerleithen Scotland, Scotland's oldest inhabited house, dating back to 1107 (now thats old!) Visited by 27 Kings.

It was originally a hunting lodge for the kings and queens of Scotland. Later a refuge for Catholic priests in times of terror the Stuarts of Traquair supported Mary Queen of Scots and the Jacobite cause without counting the cost.

No restoration has been done on the house, so is really amazing to see how it was from way back then.

While walking on the upstairs floors, the floor is really on a slant..its weird, and so interesting with all the old things in it.

I was trying to be a bit fancy here with my composition, taking the photo from a lower level of the garden looking through the plants!

Thanks for taking a look.

I thought they were iron railings - and they're those fluffy grey plants.
Very artistic composition, Dawn, looking through the plant to the House. And the house itself is very unique too. It's lasted well, and it's good to see that it has been looked after and painted outside too.
I'd like to have seen inside it.
Cheers
Janice

Hi Dawn

Nice image of this historic building.
Like your composition through the plants.
This house has just reminded me of how much history around here (this is less than 10 miles from my home),

Hi Dawn

An excellent POV here I love how you have framed this image with the flowers by taking the shot at a low level. Very effective capture.

Hello Dawn !

Great to see you around again! So 27 Kings and a famous couple of kiwis stayed there (^_^).

I like the low POV used here . in a way it is making a fancy vegetal fence with this repetition of flowers , like iron works.

Looking ahead discovering the next posts!

Well done !
Robert

Perfect angle! I like those interesting plants which leading the viewer's sight to the magnificent building. The "peeping effect" adds more fun too!

chiping
