Hi guys.. Here we are in Cornwall, England.. travelling along, on a dull day in the middle of nowhere..we came across a little settlement of stone cottages..it was like one had stepped back in time..probably nothing much has changed in years...so I turned this to Black and White to give an old effect.

Ive placed the original colour one in the workshop..which one do you prefer ?

ciao Dawn..
in truth.. the original is also cool!! ;))
a good subject.. with a good composition!! i really like the entire sight.. so natural, so "british country"! ;) interesting details.. and also effective the use of b&w!! many thanks
ciao Marco

Hi Dawn,
Great composition of these three birds and the beautiful rural stone building. I think this black and white version has a special mood, I like this one better than the original one, but that one is a nice image, too.
Congratulations, TFS!
Greetings,
Kristof

hello Dawn,
A great shot of the English pastoral scene. The guinea fowl on the road are a nice touch.
I actually like the tones of the B/W.
Good composition and a very pleasing landscape scene.
TFS, Joni

Hi Dawn,

Was bringing your "big" camera with you too much/heavy?

Indeed I get the feeling that life has been standing still in places like this and that is what I love about the middle of nowhere - beautiul impression of the countryside.
Must say the original still has the same feel to it, despite being in colour.

I must admit that I prefer the one in the workshop -- that green is so restful!
Great PoV and composition.
Just one small niggle -- I really would have been tempted to clone out that great electrical pole :)

Hi Dawn

Nice capture. To me this feels like a classic quirky British scene - a nice sense of gentle humour about it. I always like it when pictures can capture a real sense of place, and this does that beautifully.

I think I prefer the b&w version, but I can't really put my finger on the reason.

Cheers.
John

very, very nice b&w image, on the clasic model of the prewar images.

hi dawn, i so prefer the b/w, as you mentioned has an old feel to it, this could be a hundred years ago, neat shot,
tfs,
scott

Hello Dawn!
Very nice black & white composition and lovely place!
Good capture!
The colour version is beautiful, too!
Best regards!
Lili

This for me Dawn, the colours in the other seem a bit 'off'. Nicely composed and converted and the three feathered friends look like guinea fowl. A workshop if I may and TFS,
Dave

I prefer the b/w version - I think it adds to the tranquility and olde-worlde feel of the shot. The country road, the old stone farmhouse and the geese really do create a nice atmosphere - representative of that part of the world, i think.
