If you think you’ve seen this before, you are almost right :). But since the Green Baron and I were at Corfe Castle together, it is not too surprising that we will have a few similar pictures in our galleries – but I have no bird in mine – since we were not shooting at the exact same moment :(

This is super nice Silke! LOVE the details and by using the natural structure as a frame it really focuses energy on the castle itself! Love that blue sky! Soon, I will get to ride Cows with Hansie in Texas. We will go to saloons and round up the bad guys! Excellent work on this one!

Very beautiful natural framing. I love the lighting! Excellent detail. I would love to visit this place!! Have a good day Silke.

Great lighting, good POV, awesome DOF.
Unique framing

Excellent "multilayered" framing, Silke. It gives depth to the picture and shows us this castle in a less common way.
Light metering is excellent, resulting in subtle colour tones, though you obviously had a lot of contrast (shade/light) to deal with.
The only frame that really is too much, is the one you put around your picture. This photo did not need a frame, in my opinion...
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

nothing much i can say but admiring this lovely image that perfectly fits to this week's theme, Silke.
beautiful details & colours here. it's impressive!

You'll be annoyed to here that all the scaffolding and building stuff has gone now Silke! It looks like a proper old ruined castle again :o)
Great POV here, very well composed indeed and well exposed too. Well done, an original take on a MUCH photographed place.

The composition with the bigger blue frame below and the smaller one above is expertly designed.
Well seen and captured.

Hello Silke,
Very good contrasts a wonderful picture with the architecture. Excellent image.

Hello Silke,

This works perfectly for the theme!
The details of the stonework are excellent and I particularly like how the sky is featured in the roof!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Very attractive Silke. Well composed. But I believe this entry does not follow the guidelines for this week's theme. As per Helen: "If you need to use PP work to crop or adjust the shot thats fine but absolutley NO PP framing on this one."

Perfectly framed Silke.
You and Hans have the same cameras, different lens. And of course the PP will be different. And the 2 images are quite different too - frames too. .
And what an interesting place to visit,

Janice

Hi Silke,

Great multiple frames. Really very creative. Repetitive patterns add so much interest.

thanks for sharing, Lisa

I think this is one of your best uploads.
It is totally clear and sharp, the focus and details of the stones are great, good light and exposure, perfect framed.

Excellent photo for the theme Silke... maybe I should have hunted out one of mine...there was many opportunities like this in England...with all those ruins.

Well done in handling the light here.

Cheers
Dawn.

ciao Silke..

ciao Marco

yes i have seen this shot from Han's gallery before.. but coming from you its the same place but different style of shooting.. i love the natural framing ruined you have beautifully captured but i see that you added the pp framing too.. there is no need for that because what you have captured originally is already very good.. sorry me and my big mouth.. tfs

Good morning Silke

Such a wonderful view here, nice sharp detail and that lovely summer sky that I am missing so much at the moment. Good use of the archway for excellent natural framing.

TFS and for joining in the theme

kind regards Helen

Lovely colour and light Silke, excellent use of the archways and nice textures in teh stonework. A PP frame? I thought Helen said none?

hello Silke

You have definitely found the perfect frame for this but what is more interesting to me is the depth of this capture, showing the sharp detail of stone texture of the frame (and in good shadow control) yet exposing well on the castle ruins. A fine composition work.

tfs, bill

Hi Silke,

Very interesting frame, I like very mach the way you composed this photo. Great colors and detail. TFS

hello Silke,
this is excellent. There is so much to see, so many layers to make an interesting composition and give DOF.I sespecially like the light and shadows of the stonework, whgich describe its textures. The arches frame your main subject perfectly.

Hello Silke.
Wonderful looking picture you'v created here.
But eh... maybe a clone out of the iron starway and 'distracting' railing ?
Mit Liebe grüße von Jan

Hi Silke - my first thought is that the thin inner white framing line draws a little too much attention and could be perhaps more subtle. Sorry, but that was what caught my eye immediately.

But looking beyond that, the overall framing and presentation is very nice. I love the details in the stones above the arch especially - I wonder how many building we construct now will last as long as that arch...

I also like the inclusion of the patch of blue sky at the top, I'm glad you did not crop that out of the shot. The whole place looks like a photographer's delight and you've done it justice.

Love the double frame here - looks precarious, Silke: any time now, the keystone could drop out .....
Cheers
Otto

like to see " the same " but seen by another one.
( Hope this is English hihihi )

First I like your " lead in " : those arcs
first one smooth, second rough

p.s. I solved the mystery of the Hard Rock cafe at the Niagara Falls... My shot was taken at the HR in Canada. Yours was taken in the US. :)))
p.p.s. (**) you later! ;)

Hi Silke,
Ketchup here...I'm lagging behind :-)
Great view of Corfee Castle, I see you left the view as is, without Pp work as I did in my version. Feel very honored you mention it in your note :-)
Great posting my dear, it gives me warm memories of that day!

bella composición,

pov y detalles excelentes,

I have lots of your images to choose from since I have been "out and about". This one caught my eye because of thegreat composition and super use of DOF to give us sharpness front to back. I'm really impressed by you inclusion of FG, MG and BG elements. Bravo.

Dan

Superb details and great POV to use the building as the natural frame - very creative approach and well executed.
