what a shot!!!
whoever this is... my compliments for freezing it/her in such an astonishing pose.
this is feline behaviour at its best.
cris
I agree with you Richard - pets should not be seen on TrekLens. Nor should children - eh??
This is a really nice photo of the dress-up costume. It's been sewn so well, you can't even see the joins or stitching. And those white threads hanging down look quite real. I'm amazed at the two round balls - they look quite moist. And excellent patterns and colours too, showing the contrasting tones so well.
Well done
Janice
Richard,
I had to critique this, you know...it's not a pet snap so you are safe.
Man, I was really going to lay into you until I saw the note. It's a great costume, technology today sure has come a long way since the days of the rubber band face-mask type of costume I wore at Halloween as a child. The eyes really fooled me...she doesn't have as beautiful eyes as all the rest of the pics i have seen of her but maybe it's the reflection off of the suit. I like the shallow DOF and the catch-light.
Nice one......
Some may complain that this is back-slapping but I don't think so. If I had a penny for every back-slap that took place every day, I'd be rich!
Scott
HAHAHA
Richard you should have gone to Specsavers!!
That joke might be lost on you but its a but advert in the UK on TV.
Yes yes my friend I believe you (NOT) however Jessica looks positivly feline here and you managed to capture her perfectly. Excellent DOF and nice angled shot. Indeed a VERY brave capture.. did you use a lens extender to keep a good distance :-)
TFS kind regards Helen
Man, oh Man!
You've really gone and done it this time!
This is a FRAUD!
But it is the best darn fraud I have seen on TL in a long time :)
No question!
Every whisker in place, good focus on the eyes. See - I would never have used such a shallow dof and now you have me thinking that it works - because with the focus on the eyes, it gives the illusion of 3D! Very clever work indeed and now I shall have to try it out myself
Good work!

Getting a child to sit that still, that long, in that hot, fuzzy costume should get a award for both you and the subject. ;0)
I also am really impressed by how well the very tight DoF works here and how it brings out the eyes.
Very nice work, and be careful not to bite your tongue stuck so far into your cheek. :0)
TFS,
Wilt

No no, of course it isn't a cat! Why would I think this was a cat? Are you nuts? I'm not blind!! But I must say Richard that Wee Jessica has gotten a little hairy, and that mustache! ....you know there is nothing more un-attractive than a child with a mustache! Poor thing.
Well, anyways I agree, I hate to see pet pics on this site....never mind the 10 I've posted....those weren't pets either...they were just other various and sundry Texans!
B-)
****giggles****

OH! How tacky of me...I didn't critique this NON-CAT pic.... gorgeous tones here, love the tight crop on Wee Jessica's face, excellent sharpness, but really, I would get those whiskers taken care of!..and before she starts dating! And for all you cat haters, here are some Mean Kitties for you!

Hi Richard,
I think that Jessica should stop eating KitKat bars, it having a bad effect, you should really buy her a razor LOL.
Joking aside this is a great shot, the colours and sharpness are good and the DOF really makes the head stand out. I noticed that you used 200mm so you didn't have to get too close LOL, the tight crop really does work well here.
Well done
Regards Andy
The most amazing costume I've ever seen!! WOW! And a fantastic picture. I love those eyes!! Beautiful focus on the head. I bet she won the best costume hands down! TFS and have a great day!
I must say, Kilted,
I have never in my born days seen such an incredibly authentic looking costume. Simply remarkable. My compliments to the tailor or seamstress. Lovely detail and color and just perfect DOF. I love the light in her eyes and those wonderful whiskers. Well done! Many thanks and kind regards,
Shelly
A well presented image for a "cat hater" as noted in your previous posting. But of course this isn't really a cat and yes it is a convincing costume. If it were a cat I would have to expound on the clarity as shown in the wiskers, etc.
Dan

HAHAHAHAHAH, I'm sure we'll see her sister's costume soon! I'm so glad she won the prize. This is one of the best costume photos I've seen. Her fur looks so "real"! Her eyes, are just gorgeous. I see she has "whiskers" like her dad... poor thing.
Great one Richard! Lisa

hello Richard
how are you? hope things are fine at your end.
i dont think that concerns me much wheather anyone is uploading a shot of his /her pet untill the composition has an appeal to catch your attention. this one is remarkable or i may say a lesson to newcomers.
the focus is striking. the eyes have been captured wonderfuly. fne sharpness and great details.
the dof is perfect and highlights the subject perfectly.
fine work my friend.

Roll on more cat shots - even if they are just costumes like this stunner here...
On a more practical level, nice DOF focused on the eyes (surprising how many folks don't do that), sharp in the right places (teeth and claws of course).
Good non pet shot.
Cheers

Hi Richard,
A nice close-up image of the face of the cat. The details and colors are clear and precise. The subject is well frame. The colors are enhanced by the good light. Have a nice day.

Oh the shame! Oh, the outrage! Oh the humiliation!
This IS a cat!
There is no hiding behind feeble excuses, this is a PET PHOTO, from the man who cursed all pet photos as the cheapest shots of all; who mocked and scorned the Fidos and Felixes posted on these pages with such fury that the spittle of ire settled upon his monitor.
THIS from the upstanding stalwart of TrekLens, who shines the eye-watering spotlight of outrage upon the smallest hypocrisy and the tiniest points-pandering!
The shame you bring!
What would Robert Bruce have said? What would Robbie Burns have said? What will Sean Connery say!!
As good as this photograph may be, you have done the unthinkable. You are dead to me. DEAD I say, from now until the next photograph at least!
