My friend, Jackie's dogs-- Flyte, Shep and Tia waiting impatiently for the ball to be thrown. These are agility dogs and even remember their obedience training whilst waiting for their absolute favourite activity-- chasing the ball.

Shep, the black and white dog in front is an elderly gentleman and doesn't have much chance with the 2 younger, faster females. He gets ball chasing time on his own. The one in the back, Flyte is trained to drop the ball in your hand. The youngster, Tia, on the right is a real devil about giving up the ball. And she is a pistol for getting the ball as she is very fast and agile.

All three dogs are at Agility trials in Dublin. Ireland this weeekend. I am sorry to miss it, as it is great fun.

I am in a real struggle with white balance these days. A bit of OE on the faces, particularly of Shep.

Great photo -well composed.. You've caught the facial expressions very well indeed.
Nice take
David

Hi Joni
How lovely this is. The expressions on all 3 dogs faces and they are all looking at you. I love the one on the right. He/she looks like they've been on the booze!!! He/she doesn't look quite as bright as the others but all the more adorable for it!!!!
You say about oe on the faces. It only appears to be a bit on the front one on the left. Otherwise, the others don't seem too bad.

An appealing picture Joni;these dogs are so intelligent.
Their eagerness to chase the ball is very apparent.
I like the inclusion of the tree in the corner, it adds to the balance of the shot.
Good sharpness, the slightly OE parts of their faces is not a problem.
Tfs, regards Jean.

Bonsoir Joni,
I have the impression of seeing one of my dogs, a fox terrier when he wanted to play, he has 13 years but we have to be calm because he would go beyond reasonable for him and his age, he doesn't knows stop lolll
A beautiful family portrait, everyone smiled, very good disposition of dogs at different angles on a superb background with the tree which is a natural frame on top of the image, cheer!
TfS, regards
Corinne

Hello Joni

Nice expressions on all 3...

Tricia

Hi Joni,
Love the POV and with the white faced collie you probably cant help a little OE. The dogs are fabulous. The colours are great and sharp. Well done. Regards.

Joni,

I'm a dog lover like no other! My dog would never make the agility trials. He has a little "attitude" sometimes. This is just a charming photo. I like how the dogs form a triangle in the image. Effective setting and very eye pleasing. Give all of them a pat on the head and a doggie treat from the U.S.

Lisa

hi joni

Hi Joni

Good capture. POV is nice, and you caught their expressions well!

Esther

Hello Joni,

I like the attentive postures, showing they are ready for action!
I can't help noticing the expression of the old guy, obviously he has given up already...
A fine documentary with good details!

Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Joni
What a cute trio of dogs about to bounce after the ball. The concentration is obvious in their eyes. Nice image composition with the position of the dogs in the frame and that branch of evergreen in the background. Sharp picture and good control of the color. Yes, WB is a real challenge.
Bravo
Serge

hello Joni

Why do you think you post this photo? I must say it is a great capture.

I think it is the element of 3. And what a picture it makes! With the green.
.contrast
.sharpness

How I wish I could be standing among them.

I am viewing this with glee Joni. I love threes as a composition. Flyte, Shep and Tia are all so cute, you have presented them beautifully. Well exposed and very sharp. Best regards, Danilo

Hello Joni
The essence of a good disposition because the dogs are located on sweet spots (junction of tier lines) and most admirable, thier number is in perfect accordance with the principle of three.
Cheers.
Robert

Hello Joni. Excellent image with pleasing green surrounding. The dogs are looking happy and sharp. Thanks for sharing this well composed image. Warmest regards. Jusni

As you said, Joni, a bit of OE in the whites of their coat... but I think CS's shadows and highlights tool can bring back more detail there, or else a duplicate layer with blend mode set to multiply would do the trick.
What makes up for the OE, IMO, is the compo you chose: the way the dogs are positioned, the colour saturation of the grass, and the obvious tension in all the dogs.
Well done, TFS.
I think they'll do fine in agility. Dingo and I got our attestation and participated in a few competitions... and, even though a GS is definitely larger, heavier and thus slower than a Border Collie, we did win a few prizes...
