Stac Polly
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is the distinctive mountain Stac Polly. It was quite dull when we climbed it, later in the evening as you can see it turned out a wonderful evening.
A distinctive steep-sided mountain of the Assynt district of Wester Ross, Stac Polly (Gael: Stac Pollaidh or 'peak of the pools') rises to 613m (2009 feet). Its summit lies on a craggy ridge. Easily accessible and popular with hill-walkers, not least for the spectacular views it provides of the surrounding area, Stac Polly lies 11 miles (17.5 km) north of Ullapool within the Inverpolly National Nature Reserve. |

hi douglas.
you manage to capture some very interesting places. i have never seen anything like this before. it looks like a crater from the moon, only this is covered in grass.
the sky is foreboding and moody, which i love.
you need to take me with you one day as i seem to be missing out on so much.
Brian
My heart.....Good grief Douglas...now can it be better than this??? Just amazing! I knew you would come back with some killer photos! I sure how you took your camera on that climb! Just amazing, ***drooling** on the computer screen! B-)

Hello Richie,
The green here is almostr iridescent in the evening light. Gorgeous lighting and detail in a very well composed shot. Well done!

Oh dear, what a gorgeous photo this is Douglas. I do like the vertical composition. It is sharp especially on the foreground, the colors look surreal and very attractive, lighting is exquisite. Danilo
