Summer Isles
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Looking out to the Summer Isles from above Loch Broom in the Northern Highlands 5 images into Photomatix to bring out the detail.
The Summer Isles (Scottish Gaelic: Na h-Eileanan Samhraidh) are an archipelago lying in the mouth of Loch Broom, in the Highland region of Scotland
The only inhabited isle, Tanera Mòr is also the largest. It is home to a salmon farm, a café and a post office, which has operated its own local post and printed its own stamps since 1970. The island has no roads and the only recognisable path goes around the Anchorage, the sheltered bay on the east side of the island. Boats sail to the island from Achiltibuie |

What a beautiful photo of a sunset and its reflections in the water looks very impressive.

Hello Douglas!
I do like a lot the smooth and slick mood here. Composition , colors and format are great.
For this type of shot, however a leveled horizon is imperative in my humble opinion. Here I would opt also for a black frame or border instead with a tiny white line to separate the photo and the frame. But this is really a personnal matter.
Cheers!

Hi Douglas,
Its simplicity and color contrast gives this photo a high abstract feel. The way the grey landscape and clouds channel the eyes toward the fire colored sky is stunning. I just can't help to think that the photo needs a rotation.

I missed this one! Must have been on drugs that day! LOL! Love the WARMTH here, just glowing from the darker clouds! I can even see the sunrays and that is so nice! I really like this one Douglas!
