Angel of the North
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
the real 'Angel of the North' is a statue in Newcastle, but Manchester is in the north and I'm sure i see the shadows of her wings on the pillar....
Taken very near my last shot in Castlefield, a distinct area of strong industrial architecture now full of bars and apartments.
Tech: Just gradient map to B&W, adjusted in curves, small USM, original crop. |

Hello Bry- I like the shot a lot the tones are very effective its just once you have a picture with a person in it its all about the person like you know and the left pillar and the right shadow are dead space to me
I made a WS you might want to check it out.

You do like the angles but for me, it does look a bit distracting. So, I would crop the bottom and the right part.
Overall, it is still a good picture.

Excellent shot..beautiful ...well done.
so many details in light and dark tones i could look to this picture for ages. it was a surprise, btw, to find the angel you mention in the title. it fascinates me...
yes, i´ve been trying to do something alike (with our public telephones here) but yours is excellent.
This is just incredible. I really like the background here, lots of lines and concrete and metal with the lone human "angel" in the middle (OK, the far right) of it all. This is very cool and very decisive moment as well. Well done.
hello, I discoved your work since 15 minutes and I am F... impressed.
